I cringe every time I see or hear about a mic drop. Dammit - those things are expensive!
Ahh... That makes me happy inside my little pea-brain. That sound engineer is my hero.Agreed, but like Hendrix and his guitar at Monterey Pop sometimes destroying the thing is the perfect thing to do.
I did once watch a sound engineer run from off-stage and tackle somebody at an open-mic night as he lifted his arm to drop the mic. Worked too as the mic was perfectly cushioned from the fall by both their bodies.
