Just saw over on Reddit that the pilot can control the search light while in freelook. I'm at work now or I would give it a try. Sorry if this is old news, but I didn't know that cool feature.

Sounds awesome, and now we can use this technology as part of TEST Squardons passive-aggressive battle tactics where we can flash out high-beams in our foes faces even when we are not pointing directly at them!
Well, it was working like that right from the beginning ; )
But there are better news: Red's searchlight is stronger and has longer range in 3.8.2 PTU. It's actually useful now.
