That's just a narrative.So it is entirely likely whomever fills the writing chairs will have the same background as those being booted.
Writing has gone seriously downhill since LLM's became the goto. It's lazy slop turning entertainment into fast fashion.
Same problem across all industry that isn't hands on work. I write an email to my ceo about an issue and I get an AI response back. When I manage to grab him at the end of a meeting and say to him "hey I saw your email, that sounds good but it'll cost you X over the next 5 years" he looks confused. He did not read the email or reply, and I'm his advisor.
It makes his job easy and is 'good enough'. The employees are doing the same. After 2 rounds of redundancies where we chopped the staff who refused to use ai to efficiently do their job - who could blame them.
