I suspect that CIG will somehow manage to give it reduced visibility out of the cockpit or something, because "all ships must have drawbacks", otherwise it would be too OP.

I'm telling myself that it will just be a space bicycle with no quantum drive. A faster version of the backpack. That way I won't be disappointed when we get something that exceeds my expectations.
Regarding price, I really see this as a space version of the Greycat, and so I am hoping for a $25 max price (and that's for the variant with the shiny tassels on the handlebars).

Considering that it's the third starter ship and it's the smallest of the three, I would expect the price to be equal to the Aurora for the base model with any possible variants being slightly cheaper. Alternatively the cash price could be the same as the aurora, but the ship might come with additional modules to customize it since the original description says it's designed "to be cheaply constructed in large numbers and to be readily customized by hobbyists."

On that note, I concur. It will be base prices as the other starter ships. $25-40 dollars depending on variant.

I'm hoping it'll work a bit like the Endeavour did, with the base Dragonfly costing about $20 / $25, and instead of dedicated variants, just bundles of parts / kits for $5 or $10 each (depnding on how cool they are). Maybe a high-power engine, a top-spec scanner system, a missile rack, a towing / cargo arm, etc. so we can make our own custom 'variants' from all the bits we cobble together.

So I came across a post that mentioned that the Caterpillar will have a module type that will house the Dragonfly. This makes perfect sense in the Drake scheme of things.
- You have the Buccaneer chase a ship down and stop it from jumping
- You have the Cutlass close behind to provide a firepower threat and support againt escorts
- Then the Caterpillar pops in and in seconds unleashes a swarm of fast attack Dragonfly (before getting out of there until needed again)
- Then these Dragonfly close in on the still fleeing target ship at 500 <whatever our speed measurement is - you know I never thought to look - metres per second?> to board it.
I expect these influences
