I would venture a guess that the Endeavor would be better. With a Hangar, Fuel Pods, and Telescope pods I think it'll probably be the best.

Being able to fit smaller exploration vessels inside the hangar and detaching the front cab gives it a breadth of scope and range unseen by even the Carrack. You can even bring your own short range fighters to help defend.

Imagine launching 3-4 315ps for the sole purpose of scouting a planet, collecting samples, and returning them to the front cab. Anything they find that's too big the front cab can investigate itself.

I would agree that the Endeavor does have the on paper prospect of being a hub of scientific exploration. But I am not sure it will be overall better just like the Carrack wouldn't necessarily be used for forward scanning of enemy movements a role mostly given to the Terrapin. The other consideration is ships like the Polaris will also have a capital size radar which might make it just as capable.

I wouldn't count the Polaris as using that scanner for exploration. Just as the Red and Mole has a super good scanner right now, they're designed to pick up different types of signatures. The Polaris is a torpedo boat and probably needs theirs for targeting and detection of ships.

The Endeavor will probably be focused on finding Jump Points and scanning bigger celestial bodies with the telescope. The front cab has a smaller radar than the Carrack, so it's probably not discovering quite as much on a planet surface, but has the science modules to research anything found. I think there will be a lot of codependent gameplay between the two.

Perhaps, but I'd say that the best way for you to use an Endeavor in exploration is with a fleet. I'd even dare say a good sized fleet of them in conjunction with a Carrack as well as a couple carriers & fighter escorts, but I'd suggest using at least 1 Endeavor with dual farming habitation pods for every other version of Endeavor that you use to help sustain the fleet food wise. So at least 4 Endeavors in an Exploration fleet with them because you would also want the medical version for those just in case emergencies when you need the very best medical treatment services.

Thats the thing we can speculate all we want until they flush out the radars and how they work vs scanners.

Fine ill just crash it right in the middle lol
Circle the wagons!
I advise making a giant ship dartboard with a cluster of Carracks aimed into the center with their thrusters out like spokes on a wheel, surrounded by Beerfarers in a ring around them, with a ring of Hammerheads around them for protection around the perimeter. Now that's how you "circle the wagons" in a sustainable SC ship caravan in my opinion.

I'm actually considering getting a CS5 in game and placing my Gemini in a crater on Delamar so people can't get below me and jumping up in the dual S5 turret just to fuck with people coming to get the bounty.

I saw a vid of a guy who responded to a 10k cred rescue mission in deep space. The people parked a Mantis on the spot and they came at him with a Defender and some other ship. That's some hilarious shit! I want to do it!

I watched that video by STLYoungblood as well my friend. That's straight up despicable what those players did. After the reputation system is fully up & running, doing things like that will cause a player to get a severely low rep in terms of being trustworthy, so hopefully that will act like blacklisting them from succeeding at that unless those that accept do so figuring that would be the case & accepting it just to deal with them properly & brutally.

To be fair, something like that would only work once in UEE space. Then you'd get a crazy crimestat. I could see that stuff flying in lawless systems like Pyro, but only stupid people will fall for it.

"WOW! This guy is offering 50k to save him in this asteroid field! I need to deliver my laranite, but I'll stop and help!"

Like some guy who's only played in UEE safe space, wants to shortcut through Pyro to save a bit of time, and he doesn't know about this stuff.

Good point, until then, if ever we want to find a fresh cold beer, we should rely on the nose of @Blind Owl , then hope that we can enjoy some before he enjoys all that he finds. Cheers!
Ears and eyes. Although I am blind, so eyes ears I guess.
Edit: Jesus, you see what happens when I try to do shit sober?

What's that? Is that the aroma of a fresh cold beer having just been opened or poured into the proper glass for that? (Das Boot) Sounds like it just got consumed the moment after it was set down on the bar top. Damn that @Blind Owl is a fast & crafty beer bird. It's quite impressive to be honest. His feathers made his swooping in completely silent & stealthy that even the guy holding the beer never realized that it was being consumed while he was paying for it.
