And here's my small UEE fleet.

I would probably end with a single corvette /Polaris/, single support ship /Gemini, M2 or A2 *, depending on which one would be more useful once the game is released/, a single heavy fighter /Warden/, single medium armoured ground vehicle /Ballista or other vehicle upgraded from it, in case anything better is released/, and single small vehicle /Ranger CV, already owned, not shown below/.

In case Vanguard doesn't fit in Polaris hangar -- which probably would be the case -- I would have to use credit or money from melted or sold redundant support ship and buy some light fighter like Gladius or Sabre. I plan to fit most of my stuff in Polaris, but I want to keep Vanguard -- I love it.

* As for A2, it's a CCU from M2; I need to wait until both Hercules variants are released and then decide which one to keep.

Everyone seems to have a tonne of ships. By game release there will probably be half a billion USD of ships in the verse. I wonder if they will keep all the backers on a separate server and have new players on another server? Then if you want to begin with just a starter ship you can hop servers.
I doubt it, in the end whether you own 20 ships or one, whether it's day 1 launch or your first day playing 6 years into the game's release, there will always be people with more ships, more money, bigger ships etc. Sure it'll feel unfair at first, but we get the advantage for funding the development. What might be smart is to let us backers in a few weeks before the rest of the world so we can scatter and not overwhelm a fresh player.

My random thoughts...

Did some shuffling. Dropped a nautilus, tali, valk, srv, and santokyai to pick up a Mercury, Orion, and a Hull-E and Hull-C. Really thought about what im going to want to do, or want to do with a small group of friends, and this I think is it. Ill pick up small ships the normal way, to give myself something to work for. Pretty much everything I melted went into buyback, so im sure ill shuffle around again sometime in the future.

Vangaurd wont fit the Polaris hangar, for now it's "everything Sabre and smaller" tbh i'd get a couple of Arrow's that should fit easily.

Hercules is "hard" M2 has Caterpillar equivalent Cargo, A2 is a C130 very different ships.

Yeah, I know, but I still hope the ship would eventually grow, which might result in a bigger hangar; but there is like 1% chance this is going to happen.

I'm not going to do any heavy hauling; A2 supposes to have 234 SCU, which is still pretty nice, and it can carry medium ground vehicle like Nova or Ballista, so it's theoretically better than Gemini. At this point I'm keeping unused A2 CCU though; with the A2 being limited now, I'm considering selling its CCU once the ship is released, and keeping either M2 or Gemini.

I imagine the A2 is going to be a blast when the ground target must be left smoldering. For me, the M2 was sort of a conundrum. While it is supposed to have more armor then the C2 I do not see the need as any threat to the C2 will still be a significant threat to the M2 and so it's going to need escorts anyway so why give up the extra cargo room.

I had the same issue. I had both the A2 and M2, but melted the M2 for reasons. Now coming back around thinking about a cargo ship id want, the M2 came back up. But like you said, how much are the extra armaments going to help? Id rather have the cargo space unless I knew Id be getting blasted all the time. Then its like a min - max thing. Sometimes that extra armor and say having some npcs in your turrets will be a good advantage.

Ya, for now, I am sticking with the C2. Figured if the M2 is that much of an advantage I can either buy it in-game or trade up.

This was my reasoning, as well, so A2 for ground blasting fun and C2 for transport/trade fun

@Ashrah hey, I missed this -- from the Mantis Q&A:

Is the RSI Mantis designed to fit inside the hangar of the Polaris? Any details on which ships it can fit in?

The Mantis was not designed to fit inside the hangar of the Polaris. The Aegis Sabre was planned to be the upper limit of the Polaris’ capacity and, as such, the Mantis is too long and tall. However, once the Polaris goes into production, we’ll look at its hangar size (like we did with the 890J) and potentially bring it up to the standard landing pad metrics, which would allow the Mantis and other ships to land properly.

So... there is a chance for something larger than Gladius or Sabre...

I upgraded my Cat to a C2 & then found out about the IAE livery gift. Which is ironic because I'm far more of a fan of the IAE version than the regular paint job & had I known, I might have waited to apply the Cat to C2 CCU until the C2 was flight ready released.
