No US Army unit has ever lost its colors to the enemy. That’s a myth based on an incident on November 1–2, 1950, the 8th Cavalry Regiment, a component of the 1st Cav, was battered by Chinese forces at the battle of Unsan. While they took heavy casualties and lost equipment, they did not lose their unit colors to the enemy.

Says AI. I’m going with that is true.
The US Army 1st Cav museum said otherwise when I was at Ft. Hood.
