Good old roleplaying...keep the safety word to 1 syllable, trust me!

I had a tulmutuous background in eve-online spanning a decade ending in my utter vaporization (IP ban). I enjoy roleplaying the bad a$$ villain who gets stuff done or ticks people off immensely, either will do. I was not a ganker or anything like that, I just used the game mechanics to my benefit as a solo entity.
Leaving the game with 14k kills to 250 losses, I made too many enemies and playing was difficult. It became a bore and people actually made some real-life threats and it was best. I basically self destructed, or biomassed (lol).
After the fact, I had wrote some Eve fiction that is posted on a website and I feel it was quality. Now that I'm retired from work, I have much time for lore creation but would rather stay in the background. Star citizen may be another long haul as far as my interest in sci-fi.
In the end, don't hate me, I have feelings too.

Welcome aboard! (Apologies for being 3 months late).

I am curious about this whole Role-play thing, I have written a short Biography for my in-game character which I believe fits with the lore as it stands, while adding a little specific complication to it, but am not sure what "Role Play" actually entails...

Do you just have a Modus Operandi? Is it as simple as that?

Interesting that you had to quit a game as you were too successful at it.

I should be fine then as I am never successful in anything. :D

We all do hate you. And furthermore, none of us believe you have feelings.

....damn Canadian robots
Another syrup-sucking, maple-leaf menace from the North!

Dude, I don't mean to be critical, but, you might be *too* skillful for our Org, lol!

Welcome aboard!

There's different levels of investment into it, but generally it means acting as your character would act, like, if your character is a really nice person, then they might go around helping people, or if they're a thief then they steal things, and so on. In MMOs, you'd speak as if you were the character, so you'd mostly avoid talking about irl stuff and try and use turns of phrase that wouldn't seem out of place in game.
Having a biography is a great place to start from, since if you don't know what your char is like, it's hard to react as they would.

There's different levels you can take it too, of course, like, i know a guy who's gone as far as learning the regional accent of the planet his character's from, but it could be as little as avoiding a mission for the military because your character is anti-government or something.
It's also possible to do text-based RP, where you essentially write a story snippet, a couple lines of dialogue and a few actions, and then the other people involved will do the same, reacting to what your char did, then you reply, and so on. Writing fanfiction about your character also qualifies, though that's more of a solo thing than a group thing.

If you want to know more I know a few people on discord who can explain it way better than i can.

Many thanks, that explains what I was wondering about. I just need to read up on the Lore Writers guide to ensure my origin isn't a load of old bullshit that I made up.
