Got Elite Dangerous for £4.80 in the 25 year Frontier sale

As the Vanguard is a limited ship that I can't just melt a bunch of stuff and CCU to right now, I picked up ED instead in the 25 years sale for £4.80

Am just playing through the offline tutorials - from playing Elite2 decades ago I remember there was a particularly profitable trade route between earth and Barnard Star for Luxuries and Robots, I was wondering if there were any similarly close-to-start-point trade routes I can start to grind those credits with.

If you are just starting, there are small missions you can do to get the ball rolling.

Get yourself out of the Sidewinder and into the Hauler, then onto a Type-7 for transporting goods.

There is no one single best route, they change all the time. Give a site like https://eddb.io/trade/loops a try and find the best route and commodities to buy and sell.

I picked it up on a recent sale, been playing it but it'd be nice if I could find some people to play with.

If you do start playing it let me know, I'm not very far along so probably won't be any help, but you can always laugh at me getting blown up.

I sadly found the controls awkward as all hell and was not able to overcome them to a point where the game became fun enough to continue with and then the factions thing to be able to get the ship I wanted (the only goal I could find in the game from the offset) confused me as did finding missions I was actually allowed to do at the rank I was at, so I gave up.

I believe I played about two hours not counting the tutorials.
