I will be starting it back up this next week, Saturday at 2pm EST! I have a format worked out that should keep us going.
If you do Saturday late nights or, Sundays, let me know. Sadly I work till 11pm on Saturdays and have Sundays and mondays off lol

I think your biggest obstacle will be communications on Discord when your groups are small 3 to 4 its no big issue but when your talking entire squads going into the fray its gonna get chaotic real quick hopefully there will be some sort of proximity voice chat with built in radio systems in game on release.

In Arma 3 there was mod called TASK FORCE RADIO that helped with that on teamspeak i don't know how we are gonna be able to deal with it in Star Citizen, any ideas ladies and gents?

Exactly this has been planned. I can't find the source atm. But its definitly planned to have different Channels and stuff like that. Also that your voice is getting silenced when you're moving away has been shown off in Gamescom demo (i think)

Ok guys I am up all night right now (EST), if anyone wants to do some fps training just hit me up on discord whenever I am online (usually hanging out in room 5 or Destiny 2 room, and we will get some FPS in.

Loved TFR. Is the discord issue an issue with the test server, or discord itself? I ask because if it’s a server issue, could we use- say, mumble- to talk whithin the “unit” and have only key leaders communicate up the “chain” thru discord? Kind of like how real squads and platoons communicate IRL.

From my experience with TFR I would say it was a programming issue associated with that mod, basically they used assets from both Arma 3 and TeamSpeak to make it work the way they did. Discord and Mumble assets are not as easy to gain access to and as far as I am aware you cannot mod or change them in anyway unlike TeamSpeak. hence why we never saw TFR used with any of the other voice chat systems, at least not to my knowledge.

We may be able to play around with the roles in Discord to give higher talk power or the ability to mute the others to team leaders when they talk so they can in a sense drown out all the other voices with commands or maybe one of tests members can find a way to mod in a radio system into discord for us.

Oh, I understand how TFR worked from a technical aspect and being Arma/TS specific. I was suggesting an alternative of maybe using 2 separate chat clients as a temporary fix.

How does GRASP work? Well it is simple, we have weekly training events. you come, you learn.
Sounds like a great idea. I do suggest you try to put your thoughts into a training manual or those who have been through the training will be disengaged during the time each week you are teaching newcomers.

What makes you qualified to run this? Most importantly I want this to happen, and I am taking infinitive. I also have 3 years if Infantry training in the US Army. as well as several thousand hours in FPS games.

So what will I learn if I come? Everything we can teach you about the FPS game it's self, tactics, callsigns, how to use the weapons of your choice, ETC.
I am not playing yet but this is the kind of thing I count a priority and as soon as I have the time, count me in!

I am working on a manual, I was not a ranger, look forward to working with you in the future.

Same here. Do you guys also train drops from Talis, Cutlessesses and stuff, on moons?
Talis are not set up for combat deployment, Vanguard hoplight, cutless and the like are the best right now. we have better-dedicated drop ships coming down the pipeline.... sometime....

Any plans to start this up in 2019?
I would like to, the issue is I don't want to put a lot of time into a system that will be changing and by putting the time in learning skills that will have to be unlearned.
That being said. I have hope with 3.5 and 3.6 we will see more and more improvements, as well as FPS stealth (3.5) and AI (3.6) that could make training easier and better. Right now I would say playing a more flushed out FPS will be a better use of time, mainly more tactical shooters like R6S, Insurgency sandstorm, and WW3 are the ones I would point to. however, any shooter will help base FPS skills. (right now I am having a hard time putting down Destiny 2) I would be down to do a tactical shooter night if we have the interest.

TLDR: I want to see an FPS system closer to final SC, but other shooters are good practice.
