I should get father of the year or something.

OId Lenovo 410 running GTA V!

Impossible you say?

No with Steam in-home streaming its not.

Main PC is running the game, but its streaming to the old laptop:

Keep those old laptops, they are cheap and easy gaming terminals for any PC game you have on your main gaming rig.

Steam link is awesome as well:
We didn't have a computer in the room which was otherwise the best for setting up a projector.
We didn't want to run a bunch of wires all over the place.
We found steam link 75% off in our local GS.

Now we got a projector connected to the Steam Links HDMI slot,
across the room we got Bluetooth receiver connected to 2.1 speaker system, the BT receiver is ofc connected to the Steam links BT.
We also got wireless keyboard+mouse in one of the USB slots.

The best cable management is having no cables in the first place.

Wait I have a really old laptop with 512MB RAM on a crumby old 60GB HDD and I think bit may be wrong an old AMD CPU that was slow even back then. I run Kali on it because it's fun to mess about with my dad, disconnecting his laptop WiFi and running mitm attacks on my own hardware and taking screenshots of my neighbours favourite porn webs... urrhmm yeah just innocent fun around the house.

Anyway I'm off.

Dang it I just gave away a laptop because I thought I had no use for it.

I always was interested in a test but never had a friend who could check ... did you try to play 2-3 games in parallel from the main pc ?
I ask as playing just one seems to be an overkill ( you could let kid play on main pc and give old one to some other family member for something else )

wait, isnt GTA for 18+?
Just don't tell them about the hookers or guns and everything'll be fine, have you ever seen a four-year-old trying to play any game not made for 4 year olds game without adult assistance?

"I CAN'T DO IT!"
"Yes you can, look it's the tutorial just push the buttons it's telling you to"
"IT'S BROKEN I CAN'T DO IT!"
"Look, it's telling you to click the button there, just try it."
"I CAN'T DO IT I'M RUBBISH I HATE YOU!"
"You're not rubbish, stop pushing random buttons and just follow the tutorial.... Well now you've skipped the tutorial."
"I've made him move!"
"Yes, well done! Now you've got to go and collect-"
"WHY AREN'T I GETTING POINTS!?"
"Because you've got to go and collect-"
"I'M NOT WINNING I HATE YOU!"
"Thats because you didn't collect-"
*Controller launches across room and explodes in a million billion pieces*
"Right, naughty step. Now."
*Child remains on naughty step until they are old enough to play the game*

This was Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone on PlayStation 1.

Brilliant! Well done Glorious Leader!

I've been doing this since in-home streaming was a thing. I bought a laptop cooling bench to have the full-on lazy gamer experience. It's like a breakfast tray with adjustable legs, USB hub, fans, and a mouse pad, and I've been using it in bed every night.
It's pretty awesome to play whatever I want, and not have to sit in front of the PC, but framerates were an issue with my old Lenovo sl500, cpu just couldn't handle the decoding after a while. Now that I was given a Dell E6530 that has a full HD screen and hardware h264 decoding, it's way smoother. Also controller support can be a real pain with some games.

There is some resolution issue, Im not sure if its bandwidth or the laptop, not perfect, but it is playable!
