Haha, I'm loving your write-ups.
Thank you, far too kind.

To add a final thought though, beef the engines and I could see it being a solid blockade runner. Like the Star-G will ultimately be.

point to destination and burn for it, let the escorts deal with attackers because your turrets are useless. Moving to try and shoot things yourself just extends your course and makes it more likely you'll pop. Turrets are and will always remain basically useless in a space context, so let the armour and engines do the wirk and make the deliveries others cant.

not glamourous but it'll find its niche.

It's got a relatively small front profile compared to other ships with that size cargo load, so I'd imagine doing something along the lines of stealthing it could be interesting. Blockade running by speeding up, then cutting engines etc & relying on momentum to get you there fast & then throw on the power for evasive maneuvers once you're right on top of them.

Yeah - I'd like to think CIG have the good sense to make it clear what the ship will/won't be able to do, so players can make informed decisions. If that leads to more people getting CAT's then good for them etc.
Exactly. To me she's lost her identity. CIG needs to remedy that, or there will be no Cats left in the verse.

Some will keep it as a cargo hauler even though it is a lousy option (Comparing to other ships anyways) just to be different.

What I need is an option for oars so we can run the oars in space just like the Vikings, if don't matter if its crap if its fun (okay it matters a bit).

I have invested in the game and apologise about being passionate about the cat.....

Lets wait and see. There are lots of ships which haven't found their place up to now. Yet I think, they will find it as soon as the 'verse expands and players will operate the ships as they think the ships are meant for. CIG will analyze this and customize the ships. That being said, I can assure that nobody of you will be disappointed of the Cat because she is a picture-perfect, beautyful redhead lady

four module block for a spinal mount mass driver
hydroponics Lab module
salvage module
Medical bay module
Passenger quarters module
Repair module
Jettisonable mine module
I'll be sad if there's not a repair module - i can see those pods opening up quite nicely to work on large stretches of capital hull

because I believe this will also prevent the separation of the cockpit unit on the cat, the endeavour (which the moment it was pitched I said would never, ever work right.m too many animations to get perfect, too many corridors to align correctly) will also be effected.
They also have to do the in-flight refueling for the Starfarer. That's basically the same thing: attach/detach.

You gotta use some imagination here, but picture this: YOU BOUGHT A NEAT, RATHER SINISTER LOOKING CARGO SHIP! HAUL CARGO WITH IT!...oooooorrrrrr, four pretty large cargo holds with big doors that open on each side. Pack those holds with Dragonflies, their 2-man crews, and a buttload of heavily armed mercs/pirates/marines, and you got a big ol' nasty dropship full of heavily armed troops in a bad mood and have air support! And if CIG ever decides to provide us with jet packs that work in-atmosphere(or parachutes, why not? I think COD has them), the Cat won't even have to land! 3 or 4 of these battle cats, some outfitted with just Dragonflies, some just with troops, and you got yourself a cargo ship re-purposed for military use, and you didn't spend a dime for different "modules"......hold on for a second, got a call coming in...."What's that, Mr. President? You've heard some of my ideas and would like me to be in charge of The Department of Pew Pew? I'd be honored sir!...yes sir! I'll send over someone to clean the toilet in your Aurora immediately! Er, you DO know the Aurora has no toilet, right?" Well, gotta go! Important crap to take care of!

For a modular craft couldn't they design variants (different graphic of the ship) and when selecting the module a user wants just replace the current ship with the correct one.

It would still be modular and multipurpose, maybe not as modular as having four different bay types at the same time but still able to outfit for a specific mission.

I mean really in the end it just a graphic so if you can't plug the parts together just make more than one ship and show the one the user selected.

Just think if they are having problems with this the endeavor is going to be a nightmare. They have already sold modules for that ship.
