Well now you are wrong they are physically connected, each landing pad module platform have a center house module that is attached to a arm that is attached to the central hub building.

That is what he mean there is no connecting door, it is missing interior walkway between the landing pad house module and main hub building. When he say there is no connecting door it is a expression not literally just a door, but obviously the interior connecting walkway in the arm connected to the main hub and the main hub there is no interior either....
That is what is being said, just 4 identical copied modules with with no connecting doors as in to be able to walk in to main hub building then to another landing pad module house, so they are indeed physically connected with each other but the interior connecting is missing...

Mich, I am glad to say that we are both correct. its just that I am a more wrong than you. The station is made up of 4 parts A.B.C and D-- oh darn it I will go and take a picture and post

Update and sorry for my lack of clarity, ( I like to keep it short)
A&B are clearly linked by a wall so a door would work as are C&D

AB and CD have no useful physical link which is what I was referring to but sorry I was not clear.

You may have to zoom in a bit, its like 2 bits of scaffolding rotating around, no corridor or possibility of a link from AB to CD.

Now I am here In may as well steal a ship

Olisar is probably a placeholder of sorts. Think about it. With minimal time, they threw together a place to take off and land. There was no reason to design anything but the spawning areas with an interior. The outside was too big to make usable with the population limits on the server, so why do so? Especially if they can reuse a lot of the same textures.

Now, several things wrong with Olisar.
1) the rings. There is no need for them except maybe as a gyroscopic stabilizer for the station. In that case, they should be rotating opposite directions so the torque cancels out if they have the use thrust.
2) The Central pylon connecting two landing platforms probably had 5x the space of both ship share areas that can support habitation, including hotel rooms and stores.
3) Cry-Astro is the same way. It looks like there is supposed to be a way to walk down into the station, but you can't.

If they were to fix these areas in Olisar and Cry-Astro, you would only need one of those areas to support a heck of a lot of players.

Yes but the connecting center of Olisar even in the smallest parts are 3 times larger than a Starfarer so there is plenty of room to make many walkways back and forth through the station, from end to end of Olisar.
The middle stationary tube that go from end to end do not rotate when rings do rotate the center part is always stationary and it's more than big enough to have plenty of levels and walkways rooms in any direction.

I made this short video using a Aquila since I for the moment do not have my SF-Gemini but Aquila is big enough for the demonstration how I mean when I say there is plenty of room to build a inside connecting all parts of Olisar not just the landing pads but could be so much more.

You actually went ahead and made a video. You people are amazing.
This also helps me put into perspective how FREAKING HUGE Olisar really is. If we could add guns (and a bar) to it, it could be a nice base. Like a TEST Death Star.

Thank you and you are most welcome, I am glad it gave some size reference to you and I'm happy to help out and do that any way I can when I can.
:beers:

For many it is hard to actually get a real sense of size of things in SC when you walk around and see everything from eye level height and from a cockpit view pads look smaller than they really are so it is easy to forget that a station like Olisar is seriously humongous big.

It only become clearly visible once you actually put things close beside each other and you have a reference of size to one of the objects.

I do fly around a lot and explore and to see how size differences are in Star Citizen when I have a reference of size like the Connie, it is perfect to use for that for we know in our mind that Connie is big enough to walk inside it.

To compare with other stuff like a asteroid for example you fly past some asteroids at Yella maybe zick zack between them and vision is they are big but not so big, then when taken the time to fly up to one not so big and landing on it with a Connie. Zoom out max in cam mode and suddenly the Connie look like a fly on the wall.

That just amaze me every time how gigantic most things are and with that knowing we only seen small to small-medium size stuff yet to what is coming in SC. Just mind boggling amazing what they are doing and we are a part of this being made, I only have one word for that. WOW!

:beers:
