It totally depends on your personal perspective. Its official I'm a concierge is that good or bad .
Lol yeah I figure they will ramp up the adds I don't pay rent or have a mortgage everything I have is paid for I just buy toys for my own enjoyment firearms and my armature radio hobby being my biggest weaknesses .It totally depends on your personal perspective.
From CIG's perspective it's Great though. Just watch how much money they want you to spend now. Check the packages that come available.... Don't buy them unless you can do that without hurting your ability to, you know, buy groceries, pay rent or a mortgage, buy gas for the car, buy underware. That kind of stuff.
Lol don't know if ill do that but was there checking out some .Congrats, now go make a "my fleet" post in the concierge forums like everybody else :D
There is only one way to celebrate when one doesn't know if it's good or bad:
Congratumiserations!
Believe it or not I never did that :)Congrats, now go make a "my fleet" post in the concierge forums like everybody else :D
Same lol when did people start doing that in conciergeBelieve it or not I never did that :)
Thank you sir :) .
Congrats, now go make a "my fleet" post in the concierge forums like everybody else :D
Fleet Pics have been a topic of some volume recently as there seeem to be some backers who don't understand why people post, so I gave it a think, and might have come up with the, or at least an, answer:Same lol when did people start doing that in concierge
I'll tell you this haha i don't want to tell the world what i have or gloat about how much i spent into the project. In doing this you kind of paint a big red target on your back for hackers to attempt to steal your account info etc. Also i don't want someone thinking they are worse than me because they didnt spend as much as me. People should just get what they want right? if you can afford to do it go for it screw it.(Just make sure you help me man my ships when i'm actually playing lol)Fleet Pics have been a topic of some volume recently as there seeem to be some backers who don't understand why people post, so I gave it a think, and might have come up with the, or at least an, answer:
Some get pleasure from SC by conflict in game with PvP and missions,
Some get pleasure from SC from non-conflict like mining, trading and courier missions in game,
Some get pleasure from SC knowing they are part of games history and supporting the project philanthropically,
Some get pleasure from SC collecting assets,
Some get pleasure from SC maintaining, managing and modifying their fleets.
Concierge by its very nature of having a $1000 entry level is going to have more people who enjoy the philanthropy, asset collection and fleet creation/management elements because spending that much can be/is a part of those activities which give them their core interactions and gratifications.
With a higher concentration of people who get their main Star Citizen gratifications from the kind of collection/fleet management activities in Concierge there is a higher level of positive interaction and engagement with their threads than they would get in any other forum sections and a lower chance of receiving accusations of flexing their wealth or showing off as everyone in Concierge has donated to the point of $1000 so is more likely to have a sizeable collection of craft themselves...
I see three main types of Fleet Pic:
Philanthropy:
When people reach a new rank, sometimes but not always they share their new rank and sometimes with that their fleet. I see this type of fleet pic as getting their main gratification from supporting the project and these threads generally revolve around how long they have been backers, and talk about the project and it's impressiveness, rather than their fleet and its size.
Collectors:
As with other collector hobbies such as philatelists (stamp collecting) and tegestologists (Beer Mat collecting) simply obtaining a nice collection of ships is a main Star Citizen gratification for some backers. They can be identified in three main modes: Completists who try to get one of everything, Multipliers who focus on a core set of ships and have multiple examples of those ships, and Rarities who may not have massive fleets but the ships therein may be rarer ones like the 350R, Glaive and Space Kitty skin'd Dragonfly. As with Coin collecting or beer mat collecting, they like to compare and discuss their collections with other like-minded collectors.
Fleet Managers:
This is the most common type of fleet post. Players have a target intention for their fleet in the game, and build it out around that intention be it combat, hauling, mining, salvage, refuel, even fleets intended to run Orgs with. They post not only to share their progress but also to discuss improvements and changes with like-minded managers.
I'm not saying there are no Flexing posts but I believe they are in a very small minority. It is a shame Fleet Pics get so much heat even in Concierge, as it puts off the above types of poster who legitimately want to take about ships and fleets only to be accused of false intentions, making it more likely to get more negative types of post like flexing, bragging, show-offs etc.
So who was the first person to post a fleet picture? Probably the first person who wanted to talk about Fleet Management as that is to this day the most common type of Fleet Pic post I see
It might not be the answer, but it is an answer
I have tried to have the above conversation with 2x Concierge Members now and neither have continued to explore the subject with me they just went a bit quiet :-/
I think this is one of the reasons why Fleet pics are a common occurrence in Concierge rather than Spectrum wide. It's a gated community, unless there is a con man willing to spend $1000 to make a list of marks to target it's a relatively safe space to enjoy what you enjoy about SC in. As said, the entry limit means they are more likely to be in with other people with spend to at least $1000 so they are in good company less likely to take offence as all members of The Chairmans Club already feel worse knowing they have spent enough to be in the club in the first placeI'll tell you this haha i don't want to tell the world what i have or gloat about how much i spent into the project. In doing this you kind of paint a big red target on your back for hackers to attempt to steal your account info etc. Also i don't want someone thinking they are worse than me because they didn't spend as much as me.
Couldn't agree more, their money, their fleet, their choice. Remember the Fleet Managers Motto: It's not the size, it's what you do with it that countsPeople should just get what they want right?
At least it isn't Scientology, they kind of expect you to go that route...It totally depends on your personal perspective.

Wait, that's actually a thing people do? Some of us just do that here. Since I have no clue how they do it there, some of us post pics of our fleets from websites like this.Lol don't know if ill do that but was there checking out some .
Me either, I just learned about that.Believe it or not I never did that :)
congrats, welcome to the clubIts official I'm a concierge is that good or bad .
I can't agree with this more. I'm many of these types myself.Fleet Pics have been a topic of some volume recently as there seeem to be some backers who don't understand why people post, so I gave it a think, and might have come up with the, or at least an, answer:

Some people might not understand, but I actually enjoy trading scrap. Sure, it's not as profitable as trading anything else, but to me it's a bit like fishing. For me, the fun of it is in the fun of improving my landing skills between the usually peaceful nature of watching my ship zipping through space while in quantum. Sometimes, just like while fishing, you get a nibble that drops you out of quantum & then you either have to fight long enough to jump again or come to a stop to have the advocacy scan your ship for contraban before resuming on your journey. It's in the justifications and prompts for that action. If a player forcefully stops another player from trading Scrap, it's griefing because there is (currently) no prompt in game and no justification for stopping that action. Its only worth is in interfering in another players game for the pleasure of interfering in their play. A player stops another from trading illicit contraband it is justified as it is a high-gains but high-risk activity which the game itself also attempts to stop with NPCs and a prison system.
This is very much true.At least it isn't Scientology, they kind of expect you to go that route...
Yeah I'm widowed and the kids are grown I have no bills so I can do pretty much what I want and I love flying these ships . Let me know man whenever you need a turret gunner I'll do it .I'll tell you this haha i don't want to tell the world what i have or gloat about how much i spent into the project. In doing this you kind of paint a big red target on your back for hackers to attempt to steal your account info etc. Also i don't want someone thinking they are worse than me because they didnt spend as much as me.
