Yes, they will do it, at least in the start.
But lets me honest here, Warfame puts up a weapons and cosmetics combo, everybody applauds them on the amazing design and buys it.
If you put out a game that people like, they will support you.
Win our favor with a good game, deep and immersive story line and free expansions, I have no problem paying money for some weapon or item instead of grinding for it.
