Yesterday for the first time in four years I reported another player.

I noticed a disturbance in chat. I consider the top left of screen- text chat to be a helpful resource for asking questions.
Although not directed at me a player was using what I consider to be sexual and transphobic abuse. The player was warned that they may be reported but laughed it off and carried on. I did not understand one reference but others considered it racist. When folk ignored the post, the player continued to bait people, this went on for 90 mins
When I finished playing I found out how to report these things, I sent my screen shots and await a result. (This player is not a test member)

Has anyone else reported anything similar and what occurred?

I encourage anyone to do the same. which is why I am posting this.

This is not politically correct nonsense, it genuinely spoilt the server for me, and I think for others.

I did not play a lot in 2020, the latest patch suits me, it looks and sounds great( Levski is amazing if you walk around slowly) and I have a new aim which is to visit every location, explore slowly and pick up the Christmas parcels, whilst listening to my favourite wireless station (classic rock and chat) It was whilst doing this in a stable server that this occurred.

We deal with this a lot just in TEST, where we have control of the situation.

Bottom line is we are all here to play Star Citizen as an org and have fun doing it. People play games to get away from all that real life bullshit: politics, religion, hate, bigotry, their personal demons and issues. That's the kind of environment we're here to help develop.

Unfortunately, there's a very vocal minority of people that feel it is necessary to upset others for fun, or because their ideas cannot possibly coexist with a respectful playtime they lash out.

I would encourage everyone to report people that are engaging in bigotry or trying to have fun at others expense. Most of the time it's a warning and people are given the opportunity to improve themselves.

Sometimes it's uncomfortable to deal with these situations but just remember while it's uncomfortable to deal with these issues there's probably much more cumulative discomfort going on by letting it go.


Always up for shenanigans, but never evil shenanigans.

I was ready with screen shots of the comments made in game, so as to PM anyone here who had doubts and to show them it was not trivial anger but consistent abuse.
As I asked in the OP my main question was what will happen to my ticket. I hope that as you say the person does improve/learn from it.

I would be a great moderator on this forum, I know the rules inside out. ` SHIVE, SHINER and MUNKEN have repeatedly reminded me of them over the last four years. 😇

How do you report them?

I usually go all Sigmund Frude on them and get them to go look in the mirror, then I tell them to take all their clothes off and then instruct them to... well, lets just say for the most part usually cut the crap and bugger off when I have to respond to a butt nugget in F12, but I suppose I could just as easily be reported for taking up verbal arms against them as they could be for being D-bags in the first place, so it would be better for me to start reporting them rather than mildly mentally scarring them for a while 😅

I report every player that I come across that has a bigger ship than me. Dag nam pay to win cheaters.

I've only reported someone twice, and only when the problem was so bad that ignoring it seemed wrong, somehow. Otherwise, I'm with most other people and just ignore the person or turn chat off.

As for what happens when you do report someone, you typically won't know. The support ticket personnel will let you know your ticket has been received, but they can't tell you the outcome. So, there's a good chance you'll never find out if anything comes of it.
