I've made Test my main org. This, for me, is a big deal. I wanted to say why.

For years, I ran a guild playing everything from WoW to Aion to Minecraft, and the odd FPS. We had hundreds of members at our peak. For the first few years after Star Citizen's inception, we targeted it as the next big thing, and waited. Eventually, members drifted / lost interest / we ran out of other games to play until only a kernel of friends who were active was left, and we were back to where it started. A few of them are now in Test, though fairly silent. And a few are real, meet up for a beer / go on holiday together with the family friends.

Being completely honest, I do wonder how a behemoth as big as Test will be steered; it's hard to turn the Titanic. For the members, it's easy for your voice to be lost if you are one among thousands, and harder to strike up real friendships. But it's also possible to achieve things only that kind of scope allows, and I think SC in particular will favour that.

Above all, though, I think the community here is strong, and the tone that's being struck is right, and that's what I value most.

Right. I'm off to buy that yellow and black armour in Grim Hex.. Feel free to add Starscribe as a friend in game folks.

Indeed, most Orgs and particularly large Orgs are in fact giant ships in a vast sea.
TEST SQUADRON (BEST SQUARDON) is in reality a Behemoth FLEET.

The largest Fleet ever assembled in the history of gaming.
A Fleet consisting of dozens, indeed perhaps hundreds, of 'ships' sailing together in support of the Glorious Leader's and our dreams and game play style.
Some 'ships' carry trade goods and supplies to finance & nourish the Fleet, while others seek minerals or salvage.
Many others, scout the unknown for opportunities and/or dangers. Or hunt down and destroy any enemies that threaten the Fleet or the 'Verse.
And, of course, the 'Escort Destroyers' protecting all of us as we journey through the 'Verse.
All members are free to move as they wish between ships as they desire and also as needed by the whole.

So you see, The Glorious Leader @Montoya steers the Fleet..........We ARE the Fleet.
and this is why...........

Sounds like a Spai! And already questioning leadership!? Our glorious leader Montoya will easily steer us into any ice planet he chooses.

On a less serious note, we have a Spai only bar set up so we can all chat more privately. Feel free to join me at the Spais Private Alcohol Intake Saloon.

Yes, Test is like the Titanic. A huge luxury ship full of song and dance that hit an iceberg and sank with...ya know? Might not be the best analogy. Though, it does crash, so there is that similarity.
I think we are more of a drunken, unruly group of folks. That if threatened, will transform into a huge angry armada of drunken and unruly folks. But with a singular cause! To find more beer!

Or something like that...

Welcome aboard! You are no longer a filthy affiliate, take this beer and let the intoxicating joy of TEST wash over you!

I was always attracted to TESTs credo of not forcing members to do anything. I saw other Orgs requiring exams to get in them and other stuff, and if that's what people are in to well that's great for them but if I want to go be a loaner on the edge of some fringe system then that's what I'm going to do. TEST seems to be the shepard of a herd of cats, the benefit of test is there are so many cats if only 1% of them feel like doing something, that's still tens and tens of members :)

That and they let me talk as much bollocks as I like and no one has told me to stop yet, or if I have I haven't heard them.

Welcome (again). I'm glad we've made a good enough impression to pull you over to the dark side completely.
If we are making that *good* of an impression, I am concerned that we aren't following proper TEST procedure!

Loosen up, troops! Get drunk and show everyone what filthy scum of the 'verse we are! When we blot out the sun, it will be horribly disorganized... and many will die unnecessarily by drunkenly running into it, but will get blotted out anyway due to our sheer numbers... and it will be glorious!

Also, welcome to TEST! Don't make us look bad by working too hard!

Your right, it is strange that such a large community is difficult to maintain and manage whilst always making the members feel like their input is heared and welcomed..... But thats what TEST is.
If @Montoya is to be praised for anything besides his luxurious hairstyle then its surrounding himself with the correct people.
@SeungRyul and all of the TEST staff.

Then the members themselves without exception are just really great people. If Star Citizen ceased to exist tommorow id still be happy that i joined Test.

See, this is what being in Test is all about, you messing around in the arsehole of nowhere, completely beholden to nobody, and when you break down we all laugh together at your distress while we just carry on doing what we were doing.

Yep, that's whats good about TEST, the freedom to do what you wanna do.

Given the weight of numbers one or two TESTies will find their fun in coming to come pick you back up and drop you off at the nearest space port :) Having been stuck on the ground with no ship inventory at Area 18 for the Invictus event I'd always be happy to come help a TESTie get back to somewhere they can pick up a new craft if I'm nearby. 👍

It isn't being steered exactly ... It's a bit like a herd of cattle, everyone doing what they want, but still moving in the same general direction. The way I see it, the leadership of the org are not autocratic, they're leaders because of their interest and participation. A lot of the time I think @Montoya is totally surprised how things turned out. But I think that's kind of the way it needs to be.
