Nice video @wmk love the looks of the Tonk.... the track movement feels right, not sure about general sound: it defenetly lask the metallic sound of a tank's traks, and the egine it lacks some low tune... it feel more like a SUV then a tank.
Not sure also about the re-tractable main cannon: what's the reason for that? Is defenetly not fo rsaving up space sice the gun doesn't protrude from the tank siluette if pointinig forward...

On the Hecules... hell the cargo bay feel much moore bigger whout the tonk in it!
Is it my impressio or, considering the size of that ship, is still preatty fast and agile?

Yeah... Nova is loosely based on Merkava, so it should get that beautiful Merkava engine sound:

Retractable cannon is a cool idea, however we should be able to manually retract it before loading vehicle into the ship...
Hercules is very agile and fast in atmo at this stage (in both Earth-like gravity and low-gravity). Hopefully this is not going to be nerfed.

Doesn't simply turning off the weapons do the job? Usually missiles port or weapons deploly are linked to the weapons state...

Well MSR didn't get nerferd (ar at lest I didn't noteice it...) and considering this is a big target and not a combat ship I don't see that coming.
Plus Crusader, according to lore, does produce fast and manuvrable ship so...

I watched a couple of amateur vids for honest opinions, and so far I agree with em. It looks sick bro! But the way it drives is ridiculous. One of em put it like this: it's an F1 car on slicks in the rain. It's acceleration/brakes/traverse speed defy its huge size, which I don't particularly like, and it slides around on any surface at any speed.

I see they kept the dual lasers placed way too far back on the turret to be of any use in a street fight, although I'm yet to see anyone fire them so maybe they can clip through the turret/hull? Lol
The main gun is pretty cool!
I wish they changed the engine sound like you guys mentioned above, it need more chonk! Even my old ass turbodiesel i6 engined SUV sounds beefier when I give it the beans, and it's on stock exhausts lol...

Anyways, I love it for how it looks, and I want one, even if it's currently only useful as a toy.

Very vehicles does have some problem with the gravity currently, I think CIg plan to fix that with the new vehicles phisics model they are currently implementing... or I hope so
While I enjoy the Nova, boy howdy does it need to eat a few cheeseburgers, that thing can flip so easily.
Yep, everything feels like the same vehicle. For good reason. A cyclone rides and flips about the same way as a tonk, or as a "insert any vehicle here". There is no mass simulation in the current "physics" engine for vehicles. There's different stats for grip and suspension and whatnot, but not a real physicalized mass.
At least according to a source on the internetz... seems very plausible though, as I could do donuts with the 8wheeled ICBM carrier as easily as I could with the Graycat (both on Hurston), which is friggin ridiculous. Also note how you can basically climb any near-vertical surface on any planet with any vehicle and it will not want to fall over, as long as it has enough power to keep moving. You could literally climb a fully upright 90degree rock wall with a ROC going backwards, and even when I was parked on an at least 60degree slope sideways, it never fell over.
So yeah, no center of mass and mass simulation in general for vehicles.

Remember, that ground vehicle handling is different on the low-gravity moons -- that is on the most of the places in SC universe at the moment.

As for the handling on the Earth-like planets (Hurston and Microtech), it should be similar to the real World fast modern tanks':

Cool vid!

For the same reason, on moons with low gravity, stuff should have less grip, thus should lose grip and slide down more easily on inclines. It doesn't.
For the same reason, while I should be able to easily drift around in a cyclone on daymar, It should be harder to pull off on hurston, but it isn't.

But most of this is still just a small issue compared to the real problem here: every surface feels the same. Whether you are on ice or sand or concrete, doesn't seem to really matter. It all acts the same, for now.
(and I'm ignoring the fact that even an inch high pebble can sometimes send vehicles flying for hundreds of meters even on Earth-gravity planets, inc. the Tonk, which is still very very annoying)
Clearly, there's tons of work that still needs to be done.

Anyways, here's how it should behave on hard wet surface and soft terrain (for the lulz)

Is the weapon on that thing still a S4? I thought I heard somewhere they upped it to S5. Would be truly impressive if they did. A S5 is insane!

I have an OC in buyback, but not sure if I wanted to get it since ground vehicles tend to not be worth it. Although I did just look at the pledge itself and it comes with a little Tonk model! That might be worth the buy.

It is Size 5 now. Kills Cutlass in one shot : )

Thanks to improved game stability (patch 3.13.1d) I've finally tested Nova on Hurston, and... handling is exactly the same as on low-gravity moon... : /
Cyclones are actually more slidey on Yela and moons with similar gravity and surface; but the Tonk clearly needs to be tuned...

That tank vs. street lamp... precious -- thanks, @Lorddarthvik ! ; )

According to Erkul is a nominally a S5 weapon... but is bespoke so size classification are relative...

BTW alpha damge is 26k.... a big slam...
