The questionable thing here is, how the hell did CCP accidentally release a ship whose physics could actually work!? They really need to work on their design process. They can't afford to let something like that slip through again.

I think at this point, everyone is very well aware of the similarities between the two ship's shapes. The question then begs to ask, what is "original" anymore? Nothing. CIG could simply say they pulled the shape of the ship from a can opener.

To think that the ship dev would simply copy it and think nobody would notice, or that it would somehow be ignored by Eve is ridiculous.

The fact is that it was designed from scratch and ended up looking the same! That is the crazy part!

I can not think of a reality where he sat there and copied the Eve ship to pass off as his own design!

The cab and chassis look very similar to a construction excavator. The engines on the side are very drake in their design and placement. The twin arms are what makes it similar to the venture. You could also say the twin arms makes it similar to the SDF-1 or Macross ship with the booms in firing positions (non transformed)

In reality, you could possibly make a stink about it, but CCP has decided to make fun of it instead and try to get a sale going on. However, this is not the only time CIG has made an homage to a ship. For instanc, the Polaris and this ship from Gundam. http://gundam.wikia.com/wiki/Garencieres Not quite the same, but very close. There are yet other ships and artwork as well.

I am sure CCP are enjoying the publicity to be honest. Other than two arms you could have used a cyclinder and well that doesn't look as good.

Three arms might have worked with one on top (gotta keep the bottom clean to land) but that would have obstructed visibility and as its not a fighter that's not a priority.
