Ben hints at Polaris, so that is settled.

Question now is price.

Since the original Idris was $1000 corvette sized, I think they try get it as close as possible to that number.

$850 on the low end, but no more than $1000.

Its role will be to knock out small fighters, so I expect 3-4 well placed S2-S3 manned turrets that cover all directions.

Probably 2 S5 front facing weapons and room to dock one Hornet.

Sound right?

I expect it'll have a couple of torpedo tubes as a way to 'punch up' against the larger capital ships, the Idris and Javelin both have some. Hopefully once turrets are sorted the Polaris will be a good anti-fighter escort for larger fleet ops. I'm not expecting any hangar/landing space, an not too much cargo, to keep it light and more agile than other ships of its size, but there might be space for a shuttle, as well as docking collars for larger ships.

I would guess 4 S4 manned turrets, lots of missiles, and docking but nowhere to land. E-warfare capability, extended range radar, very heavily armored and shielded, and very fast for ships its size. Do not be surprised if it can outrun some fighters.

I'd say wait and see if the polaris is A) atmosphere capable and B) laid out in such a way that it would be conducive to ferrying troops planetside. Personally, I'd wager that the redeemer is goingto be better at its job than the polaris, and if you need more troops, then you'd be better served with a troop-transport retaliator. I'm betting on the Polaris being geared more towards smaller fleet op C&C/area superiority roles then pocket carrier or troop transport.
