I can't see a need for an org owned Cutlass. They're going to be everywhere. Redeemers will be rarer, but Polaris more so.

We need to wait and see but my guess is Redeemers will be best deployed in pairs or alongside Vanguards so if you only have one its not worth what a Polaris would be.

I expect it'll have a couple of torpedo tubes as a way to 'punch up' against the larger capital ships, the Idris and Javelin both have some. Hopefully once turrets are sorted the Polaris will be a good anti-fighter escort for larger fleet ops. I'm not expecting any hangar/landing space, an not too much cargo, to keep it light and more agile than other ships of its size, but there might be space for a shuttle, as well as docking collars for larger ships.
We cany expect everyship to hit above its class. Idris hits above its class with its single railgun and anti cap missiles. Javelin hits at its class with only 2 torps. I figure the Polaris will hit below its weight and be a anti fighter ship. They said that almosy any ship below the idris could fit in the bengal. This mighy be the bengals answer to short range escort ships. I could see these hanging back with a carrier and protecting it while its fighter and bombers are deployed.

So the question is, do we sell the org Redeemer and put it towards the Polaris?

Or just leave it.
I vote we keep the redeemer. its sentimental especially since little murderer was born recently.

NEVERMIND, I am braindead. I was thinking you meant the Javelin. my bad. redeemer for a polaris, would be a good upgrade.

We can't expect every ship to hit above its class. Idris hits above its class with its single railgun and anti cap missiles. . . .
The Idris actually hits below its weight class. If you compare it to the Void Bomber it is much less heavily gunned, but like the US Iowa class battleships from just after WWII, it makes up for this with very advanced damage control and such. The Idris is a defensive ship, meant primarily as a picket or tank type ship that keeps fire off the larger, more capable classes like the Javelin, whereas the Void Bomber is all offensive guns bristling everywhere. VB's are attack ships the size of an Idris.
I figure the Polaris will hit below its weight and be a anti fighter ship.
That's a good bet.
I could see these hanging back with a carrier and protecting it while its fighter and bombers are deployed.
Typically Corvette class are not seen as particularly useful in fleet engagements. They do exactly as you say, but their real use is normally alone patrolling and running down smaller craft such as anti-smuggling operations, or anti-piracy, where their enhanced speed can be of real use. That speed is useless when the ship is moving with larger, slower ships. The best example of a modern Corvette are the new US Independence and Freedom classes of Littoral Combat Ships. If you look at their missions you'll see they shine in anti-piracy, but in fleet engagements are generally for things like mine laying and other relatively non-combative roles. Putting a Corvette on a picket is almost sure to have it destroyed as has happened in many battles of desperation over the centuries.

And of course, the Corvette is the typical first choice of pirates who want to chase down and board larger capital class ships.

I have to concur with this estimate not only because it is a capital ship but because of price creep.
Price creep?

What price creep?

You don't think a EVA/ground motorbike is worth more than the militia Aurora variant? Or that the Argo is worth more than a full fledged ship?

Man I was shocked at how low the rover was, I thought a glorified go-cart was worth at least 60 USD, at least Avenger levels of money.
