The extending docking collars ... what happens when the local space stations notice a cluster of space whales passing by. As Wayne & Garth would say, "Schwiiiiiing!"
Can I just please dock and undock my snub fighter from the Connie, pretty please..............
One of the last few ISC or SC Live showed a working prototype so.....soon?
Dang, those things are LLLOOONNNGGG, kind of thinking either they need to implement a solution to shorten them after connecting (reduce shear force and improve safety against crashes/attacks) or replace much of the walkway with an elevator.
For God sake no please not another elevator!!! I hate those things!!! plus there will be no point of making them so refined and with windows in that case...
First implementation I think it will be just a looong walk, further on at more luxurius station I'll expect to see some moving walkways, like to ones you find in the airports:
IF the devs at CIG go with moving walkways, I'm sure that the various NPC's will be caught spinning (dancing) along the way by being somehow caught between them to cause the rotations. As an example, look at how well the NPC's handle using chairs from time to time. LoL
