From the sound of things, although there will be dedicated ship designs for various purposes (i.e.: Orion mining platform), it will be to some degree or another possible to convert nearly any ship for any purpose. Whether or not this is a good use of resources is another thing entirely, but I do remember in EVE doing a megacrapload (this is a real word, I swear) of mining multiboxing with battleships long before dedicated mining ships like the Hulk and eventually Exhumer came out.

At one point due to the heavy skill requirements of mining barges I could outmine early Hulk pilots in a Megathron or Apocalypse, while training for barges.

If I had a tail, it would be wagging. I might grow a tail so I can wag it over this, because my erection is not suitable tribute for all the hard work they've done making it supremely awesome.

Between this and the Carrack. . . my god, I don't know how I'm going to make it to launch, the anticipation will kill me.
