Damn,
two unrelated quotes.
And still I can't stop thinking about how a welsh name for a Perseus would sound like.
And how many letters you are allowed in naming anyhow.
Because... like... you know... welsh names are.... unnecessaily detailed..?

Last I heard it's 32 characters and spaces do good luck with that!

You know what they say in Cornwall?
"Red sky in the morning,
sheppards warning.
Red paint on a Welsh ride,
... buggerit... run!
Run for cover! "

So during the Invictus Event I had an attack of the vapours, melted an F8c and some other bits and upgraded an A1 to a Percius...

I love the 600i and think it's a great size so the Percy being the same felt like the bright move at the time but now it's sinking in there is a crew requirement which doesn't fit my play being mostly short-session solo.

Have I made a savvy move or a rod for my back?
Depends on your style of play. If you're a PVP dogfighter, this was a...not so really good choice. If you're more of a captain of your ship and want to make others toil - no objection. However, the F8C is flyable, the Perseus is currently not. It is also not suitable for spontaneous tours, simply because of the in-game costs. But in the end, it's also a question of your hangar, what else is stored in there (spoiler: EVERYTHING!).

All in all, there is nothing wrong with giving CIG money for the development of SC. And with TEST you always have enough manpower at the start to staff the larger ships.

You do get to play with a Polaris and a Vanguard Harbinger while you wait for the Perseus to show up.
And I doubt many people are picking an F8C Lightning for PVP anyway.
Or did I miss mayor changes in the meta?

Well, I'm not a PVP player myself, but I know citizens who like to go hunting with the F8C. But that may have changed in the meantime - I don't have any experience.

Polaris: nice ship, but very expensive (torpedoes!) and hardly practical to use. The hangar is meh, otherwise only usable in a fleet. As far as I've heard, Vanguard ships haven't been usable for some time now because CIG has nerfed them down to their skeletons.

All in all, as I wrote, a matter of personal priorities. Perseus, however, will certainly be an exciting ship, much more useful (in my eyes) than the Polaris (which in turn comes from my own experience in fleet gameplay together with/against Idris). In this respect, Naff has certainly done everything right. :like: :o7:
