To over the Crusader main landing zone.

Somewhere about 15.55

This is quite big news, there has been speculation over the stations fate for a long time, now it's the official orbital post for Orison :)

If they're "just moving" its location to be positioned over Orison, then I'm guessing that either they're still working on it's modern replacement ... OR ... they've been making its replacement using the modern tools, metrics & textures but keeping the approximate classic layout? Yeah, I have no idea what's going to happen.

My fingers are crossed we'd at least be able to walk between the struts internally... and that there will be a wing of Ares on patrol to see off the Ganksters and ass-hats those open pads attract :-)

It would be cool to have all 4 segments connected internally as that would definitely have a distinctive layout unlike the others. I'm not sure how they'd pull that off other than removing the rotating wheel between the 2 main sides, but if they did, they could replace it with an interior shopping center or something that could give rigidity & a non-moving pathway. Perhaps in the process they'll add in a vertical strut perpendicular to the current layout that would have docking ports to ships that can't land on the pads. All of which would meet up in that central zone.

As far as I know sometime in the future PO will be replaced entirely with the now normal closed hangars design for immersion and to bring it up to current tech. No pads. It will most likely get much bigger just like all the space stations and rest stops did. This means the overall iconic design will be gone.
The current news about the move is a welcome one, I really like being on Orison but I miss the ease of starting on a station instead of taking the shuttle every time the game crashes. (or me, that happens too lol)

It used to happen to me a lot too. 30Ks and outright crashes are occurring a lot less than they used to, and I spent almost all of 3.12 learning how not to land on walls or upside down in hangers. My biggest problem lately has been rocks... the Prospector has really shitty brakes.

Wait... I am confused. Crashing and upside down I thought was our signature move? Are you saying I am doing it wrong this whole time?

I'm hoping for the second one.
Honestly right now the planets space ports are juust another version of the normal reststop, noting special other then being linked to a major landing zone of a planet, so PO could became the very fist custom made planetary space port done with the new metrics and building tool, bigger, with hangars, docking collars, an hospital and all the amenities that other space port will have while keeping the classic flavour.

No no, nothing like that. I'm saying that I spent all this patch so far mostly flying my Prospector into rocks, moon surfaces, and at least one ship that was trying to rob me. That's even if I can get in it, because lately the animation sends me either through the ship so you end up on your back on the ground, or inside the walls which blows me up. Only other ship I fly lately is the MSR. The biggest problem I have with that ship is remembering to open the hanger doors.

first world problems ...
It happens at Lorville, yes sometimes. It happens way more often at Area 18. That's a second world problem. Both New Babbage and Orison seem to work better, so not a third or new world problem. But if you want to see something funny, watch me try to land a Carrack at New Babbage. I've never lost my Carrack there yet, but the ship attitude at the end of landing would sometimes make Elon Musk proud.
