Just curious, I saw something today and decided to do the math, found out I spent $650.00 USD on ships. If I include subscription, some past subscriber items I wanted, and a shirt, $835.00 USD in total.

I've been into this for 2/3 of a year and think I've gone a bit to far and am probably going to ease up on my spending (unless it's something shiny!). Really though dividing the total on ships over the time I've played it's ~$80 a month + Sub so ~$100, which isn't to bad but still not good either really lol.

Plus quite a few grey market deals that aren't on that list. So I reckon you've got nothing to feel bad about my friend.

Perhaps it is interesting to know, that there are people who spent even more than 10k. Just have a look into the "current fleet"-thread: there is a guy who spent about 40k!
That said, you can see pretty clear that most of the people at that time have spent between 100 and 500 Dollar, owning two to five ships.
But I think, the longer the development phase takes, the more people will have spent - naturally, for you are facing a lot more concept sales than the newbies + probably spending on merchandising and subscriber fees.

So, limiting the poll at 1k doesn't make much sense ;)

I have spent a fair amount. However, it is all within reason. The amount I have spent so far on this game in the last couple years really doesn't hold a candle to the yearly amount I have historically spent at bars and strip clubs. If I have no regrets about helping those girls "earn their way through college", I certainly won't regret helping fund this game.
