My pilots will fly it for me.. I am a Captain! I get to sit in the comfy chair in the middle of the bridge and eat my snacks while everyone else does their assigned duties! The Starfarer has proven this possible so I expect every "big" ship to be equipped like so!

I think alot of people see a big ship and think they have to buy it to be competitive but have no real purpose for it. I wanted a modular fleet that could scale up and down depending on the risk and scale of mission. If we plan on going light explorin a freelancer dur and a couple of fighters moght be enough. If we plan on going vanduul hunting or salvaging in vanduul system for rare ships might need a carrack, idris, a couple of corvettes and a starfarer as a fleet to protect itself. If going large wormhole maybe a corvetter and carrack are enough.
Though i would love to see a fleet of idris, 2 corvettes and support ship heading off to find a abonded vanduul frigate or bengal carrier.

I was in a party last night that started off that way, but then we took over Kereah for a couple of hours, with 5-8 inside and 2-4 providing over watch/CAS in sabers and hornets. It was pretty fun, with great communication and organization. I hope that's the case with these big ships, as well. I am looking forward to crewing on one, though.
I feel the same about the situation. I did end up with both a Pillar and a Star-G (which could become a Carrack). But I'm apprehensive about having two larger ships like that, as I want to USE the fleet I have. And I feel like having too many large ships will lead to crew requirements not being met, and ships sitting.
I'd rather have a fleet I use, if that makes sense. So one or two large ships, and a few smaller ships that I can use to cover multiple situations.

Agreed... anyway... got to go now, I heard from a random person online that the tooth fairy visited them, and said that a dog playing a banjo will be dancing passed my house later giving out leaflets saying when the new series of FireFly is coming out...

Oooo now the colourful hippos that are dancing in my room (that were not there pre-head bang ago..) are now telling me gravity will be turned off this coming weekend to let all the lettuce's off the planet, so they can catch a connecting rainbow to their home planet of 'Alottmentonia'

I may melt for a Polaris. I always I like the "fleet" I have now, but dammit all the new shinies!
I suffer the same affliction. But ya know, I'd rather have the "ooooooo, shiny" syndrome here, rather than in real life. Haha.

Only problem would be finding people to crew it XD
On second thought it would be a lot more meaningful to earn it in game, especially as a group wide effort. Although might just spring for an Idris instead :shrug:

I don't think that'd be a huge issue. I think that there are plenty of people like me that, for what ever reason, would be excited to crew on someone else's ship.
I'm starting to lean this way with a bunch of the other ships I want. We do need to have something to work towards in-game.

Its my understanding that the corvette is a military escort ship built to be fast and handle fighters and other ships below its weight class. Its not meant to take on capital ships or other large ships with big guns. You have the retaliator with its torpedos for that. Its snub bay is similar to the connies in that its not a full hangar. Someone mentioned that you would need 4 -5 of these to be able to remotely try and take down an Idris. The carrack comes with 1000 Scu cargo the Idris M = 860, Idris P = 1720 so Im not really expecting much cargo carrying capacity for this ship and only medium armor for it srole.
This is going to be one of the most commonly seen multi crew military ships in the verse. I've always said I expect it to be less than $500. The next big ship will probably be the Carrier escort ship the Pegasus with a capacity to carry 30 fighters. This I would see going for a very premium pricing of around $800 to a 1000.
