Salt, those ships you compared it too are not dedicated carriers though, its like comparing a modern Destroy with a modern Carrier, they aren't compatible. the Destroyer can deploy a gunship/transport but relies heavily on its own defenses, Carriers on the other hand have almost exclusively Point Defense systems like the Vulcan Miniguns, other than that they can't pack a punch, but their dedicated air wings can. The Idris is a frigate, its meant to hold its own, same with a destroyer or a cruiser. Carriers by name can't hold their own in a fight without their air wings.
You also have to realize, while the Idris and the Likes will probably be a formidable opponent, their weapons systems are most likely to be geared towards other captial ship sized vessels, not smaller ships, hence retaliators and the likes in nice 4-6 man formations would almost certainly disable if not destroy an idris.
As far as fighters moving across the verse, they can, and they cant, not all of them will have jump drives from the start, and not all of them will have the fuel capacity to make it as far as some of the other ships. I dont see these ships as being huge advantages to anybody, even a large group, especially at the start, because im willing to put money down and say that 75% of the player base on release will focus largely on doing their own thing. Not to mention, you would need to find a crew for the carrier, and for the fighters and bombers on it.
