My best guess is that it will have better fire power & more agility than the Vanguards, but no bed & shorter range as the tradeoff.

Trust me buying real assets that actually exist in our universe and will likely go up in value, i.e property, is the way to go.

Temporary solution: do some simple farming/homesteading in-game... they could release a crappy tier 0 version in no time. All non-pvp'ers would rejoice. Or hell, FISHING... every MMO on the planet worth its salt has fishing.... just release fishing... CIG. release the fishes.

Hmm interesting aestetics and the immages and description of "turrent mounted on a rail" suggest that the turret can actually slide back and forth to have a full cover of either the front or the back of the ships... that is an interesting feature...
Not really shure about the armament: 4xS2 and 1xS4 is very similar to the Vanguard on this point, the exception it that the vanguard does benefit from bestspoke S2 weapons thatt are really effective and a S5 hardpoint... those this Scorpion suppose to compensate with the 4xS2 turret?
If they ware fixed S3 it will appeal more IMHO, also I'll like to see some asimetrical configuration for weapons, like 1xS5 and 2xS4... something that give some vibe on the ship configuration, instead of being stuck on the same S2 weapons...

I usually like this guy's analysis but i think he's got this all wrong.
First off, if this had 8 S3 guns it would NOT be in line with other heavy fighters. It would be the ruling DPS champion of the game, with TWICE the firepower of the Sabre. That's not what this is.
Second, the model he shows and does not examine seems to have a rear hatch, so I don't know why he presumes the rail would interfere with such. Looks like a rear hatch in the center of the stern. When parked it appears the turret might be able to sit above the hatch and guard the entrance quite well. So if you're running search and rescue ops, and your rescue is under fire, could be these 4 turret guns are there to help. Very cool.
The body of the ship does appear to have 8 missile tubes. No telling if that is 8 launchers or 2. If 8, then this is a huge upset as well. I would not be too surprised if the ship included 8, S3 missiles that could be launched all at once. That would be interesting now that ships are limited to launching only as many missiles as they have launchers. However, I would expect the reverse, that it has 8 S3 and only 2 launchers, one per side. It would be even less surprising if it had only 2 launchers and all 8 missiles were S2.
