Today, I proudly presented my work to my wife, who had told me:
“You have free rein to trim the ivy.”
So today, I went full-on ivy-hedge-trimmer massacre.
To be honest, I never liked that plant anyway.
Her reaction:
“You were supposed to trim it – TRIM it, NOT KILL it!!”
...
Clearly, we need to work on our communication.
But hey – as long as the only casualty of our marital communication breakdown is a dead ivy plant, I’d say we’re still within acceptable limits, right?

What a horror show! And that’s exactly why friends don’t let friends caffeinate and trim!

Gardening - I once tried to do it, I cut the lawn and it went from being green and long to being short and brown... Naa, not for me.
I think, I'll take a beer instead of coffee for once 
I don't think ivy plants can be killed. I'm sure it will come back and you can say "See, I did a great trim job, it lasted for a whole year".
Yesterday, for the first time this year, I felt a slight sense of autumn melancholy. Summer is slowly and quietly coming to an end.

I used to think I hated summer because of the heat, turns out it was because it ends.
And the heat.
Can't have a new one next year if it doesn't end this year though.
