Losing does not mean not making it into the game. They've already said that they're probably planning on adding other TNGS ships to the game.

So, I've seen the Redeemer, and the Boomslang, and I just watched a walk through of the Brutus, and honestly, I WANT THAT SHIP!!!!!!!!
Sorry, I like Drake ships, and the Brutus looks like a Drake ship, it has a couple of flaws, but all the ships started out with flaws, but they can be fixed. To me, out of the top 3, the Brutus would have had my vote.

I'm fairly confident they've addressed it more directly than just not denying it, but I don't have a source on hand so I won't press it further.
Regardless, the presence of the Redeemer does not make it pointless for them to add another ship from TNGS. There is plenty of room to diversify roles.
