This is quite true, because the more I learn, the more I realize that I know effectively nothing compared to what I thought I would by that point.

That is part of the Dunning Kruger effect. This is a kind of way oversimplified graph that more or less describes the effect.
Everyone is somewhere on this graph, and it's different for every skill you have.
There is an error in this diagram. The expert height is not normally shown as high as the novice "Know Nothing" side. And this doesn't quite explain what Dunning and Kruger described but it's a kind of good layman's description. BTW most self proclaimed "experts", like the ones you see on the evening news are on the Peak of "MT. Stupid"
By the way, in SC you are somewhere in the part that says Slope of Enlightenment. I mean you can fly a ship into the side of a station, and you know you know it.

Ah, the valley of despair how brief I thought my visit would be after learning how boyencey worked in primary school but 32 years later I'm practically a part of the furniture.

Good question - depends on how you use them. I suppose I'd class them as "Transport" or "Roller-coaster substitute" when riding one down a hill.

Me thinketh the deep thinkers over there in OP land have a glass is half empty mentality.
Hell I can't even play the game right now and Im not setting myself on fire and running through the town square screaming its CIG's fault.
I for one will have to dig into the couch and add up some pennies to create a setup that is EAC acceptable just to play,...But its just a thing and things are subject to change.
As for the rest of you poor scammed souls I wish you all some bodacious Merry Christmas cheer in case I don't drink enough and log back on in the next few days.
