If we did a kickstarter at $10 a coin, we'd be able to have an inventory for storefront sales and spares.
Say we want to have 100 made of the last item quoted, unit cost is $4, and total is $650. We'd need to get at least 65 backers in the $10 bracket on kickstarter to pay for the lot.
This is where kickstarter gets good: we can easily scale our order according to the number of backer coins ordered. We'll also need to account for the kickstarter cut of the money and shipping expenses in the final math.
Assuming Montoya approves of the kickstarteridea, our biggest challenge now is getting a design made and asking for an accurate quote based on those specs.
