The calendar at the top of this here very forum says there is some Sun Blotting practice going on in 30mins from now at (8pm UTC, now done but more in calendar)

The calendar very kindly translates the times into your local if you have it set up right, so have a look and see whats coming up for things more friendly to your time zone if this isn't a good time for you.

If you are up for sun-blotting tonight, get on to Discord by clicking the "Discord Partner" logo at the bottom of the page or just use this link https://discordapp.com/invite/TEST if you can use a mic to join in chat as thats easier when playing, please go in to settings and set a hotkey for "Push to talk" or everyone ends up talking over everyone - if you can't do the mic thing, join in the General Chat forum page, from there someone will tell you how we do it about 8pm UTC if you listen in on the group chat - it's pretty simple once you get the hang of it and you'll be able to hear the Glorous Leaders dulcet tones LIVE!

I use a separate computer for my discord so I don't have to keep switching between the game and the website to read it when flying places.

If you are worried you are not technical enough to join in, here's how it should go:

  • We all make ourselves known in the Discord so the Group Leader can add everyone to their in-game contacts list.
  • Add whoever the leader is (usually @Montoya) to your in-game contacts list, you can do this using the "Contacts" box in the "Accounts" drop-down when you are logged in on the RSI website - you can do this any time, so just add Montoya now anyway, you know you want to.
  • Start up the game and sit on the main menu.
  • The Leader will invite you to the Party. When they do it will pop up in a blue box saying "Press [ to accept or ] to decline." press [ to accept.
  • Once the leader has invited everyone, they will launch us all into the same server! A blue box will pop up asking you to join the server, press [ to accept and it will launch.
From there it's a standard SC session with all of your TESTie pals!!!

I managed to join in and I am probably less technical than you are :) Looking forward to seeing you all in the 'Verse!

I was able to stay with the team for an hour and a half, my personal leanings from this session:
  1. Somehow we didn't manage to crash the server, whatever we did this time lets do that some more.
  2. Handy if we all start at the same place, sorry to the guys who had to haul ass from Hurston while the rest of us were trashing the security station.
  3. All launching in Auroras only works if there aren't bum-ends in Arrows trying to down anything that breathes outside. A couple of volunteers in fighters for cover might help next time.
Not a learning but an additional personal thought: Before deciding what to go and do, sending 2/3 pathfinders in fast ships to scope out the most likely fun destinations would be very handy - For instance places like JT and the crashed Javelin can be super difficult to locate if they are on the night side of the moon, or there may be such a heavy presence of other players there as to make it not worth going to, so sending pathfinders ahead to ensure they are at least findable and safe to get to, and then having the pathfinder land there as a beacon for the rest of TEST to navigate to may be worthwhile.

And thats done! good game TESTies see you same time next week 😃
Aaaaah, you left too early, when everybody was gone, @Thalstan joined the channel for a chat, after a while @Montoya also joined 😄

Somehow we didn't manage to crash the server, whatever we did this time lets do that some more.
Bummer 😕

Handy if we all start at the same place, sorry to the guys who had to haul ass from Hurston while the rest of us were trashing the security station.
It comes with parties, people see activity and decide that they also want to join the fun. The remote spawning points shouldn't be a delay for the well prepared participants. Let the remotes travel to PO, legally land their ships at PO, then catch up with the rest. The landing at PO is especially important, since we most of the time don't intend to stay alive. After landing at PO, there won't be a second long trip.

All launching in Auroras only works if there aren't bum-ends in Arrows trying to down anything that breathes outside. A couple of volunteers in fighters for cover might help next time.
yeap, it is not very practically to start a fight outside PO in Auroras. The bum-ends always have the advantage. Even if you get destroyed, it will be harder to get an advantage since there is no regrouping option so close to PO.
Select an OM point around Hurston, everybody who gets in the ship jumps to that OM point and there will be an opportunity to group up. This works better than wait at PO to get harassed.
