I have been itching for a new multiplayer game and have been sorely disappointed by most of the newer releases lately like Anthem. Anyone have an inside track on The Division 2? I am not going to pre-order as I learned that lesson with Destiny, however, I would love to hear some feedback for those that have played it.

Division 2 is in free open beta this weekend.

Install it and try it out.

As our forums reveal from reading other "what about this game" threads, we have a REALLY diverse group of people here. Some like a game, some love it. Some dislike a game, some hate it with passion.

Regardless what other people say, all that should matter to you is what YOU think about a game.

Try it for free and see for yourself! 😆

If you watch youtuber reviews, every game ever made is terrible and has problems.

We are encouraging everybody to go and play chess before they catch onto that and give it bad review too!

If you don't like Anthem right now, you won't like the Division 2. They are both Games as a Service and will be filtering in content over time. Some people prefer that, others see it as releasing a game "half ass" and then fixing it, rather than understanding it's clearly advertised as such from the get-go.

Come on now haha, there is a difference between adding DLC content and then patching/updating a game 6 times in the first week just to appease the gaming crowd which is what Anthem is doing to keep the game going until they put out a real content patch. The one thing Division has going for it is that they had 2 years to fix the complaints on the original, yes the Division 2 will be better than 1 simply because all the content added in 1 will already be in the game that already makes it better lmao.

I have about 10 hours in the game so far and again like Anthem I am enjoying the demo/beta, there is more to do in the Division beta than there was in the Anthem Demo, also there is a ton of stuff coming when it goes live yes you heard it here I am calling it the Division at release will be better than Anthem, now 6 months down the road who knows what will happen.

But like everyone already stated we all have our own opinions just unfortunately the majority of Anthem gamers seem disappointed currently. Even the ones who call it a "service" have stated their displeasure and boredom but yet say its a good game their just waiting for it to happen lol.

You are one salty boi when it comes to youtube reviews. You need to broaden your horizon :P there is a bunch of positive reviewers out there and people have done positive reviews on games people hate on.

Division 1 was a total disappointment so I expect Division 2 will be the same!

It's another NO BUY from me (just like Anthem)! I don't care if they maybe will "fix it" next year, it's too little too late!

I'm not really seeing anything that blows my skirt up so far in the beta. It is a cover shooter with very basic AI and the targets are all varying degrees of bullet sponges. The story seemed interesting, but not enough to make up for the other faults I am seeing. If the combat was more interesting I would be tempted.

Then hold out for a sale or the season updates to come out. What you see in the beta is pretty much what you're going to get. It is a fairly simple cover based shooter. Having said that, meat and potatoes for the division is the loot/gear. For instance: https://www.gamespot.com/videos/division-2-patriot-gear-set-exclusive-look/2300-6448587/ this is a first look at ONE of the many gear sets that we are expected to see in the end game for the TD2. Very different style to the first game as the old style simple had super hero buffs and that was about it. This is the first time we really are seeing major debuff/buff combos for a gear set that isn't just a percentage number.

Since the open beta is open until the 4th try and get yourself to the end game character you're provided at the end of the beta and see what you think. Most of the game is just a way for you to get to max level. Some of us get into the story and like completing and exploring everything, others just like hitting max and DZing. Hope this helps!

I agree the beta was very limited, so limited in fact you would think you were playing the first division game lmao, but as I read the content being added to 2 I was happy about the things being added, is this a perfect game? Absolutely not those do not exist anymore but its a step up from the first one and imo will be better than Anthem and right now for me there is nothing else out there to play so I will sink some time into it as I have friends who play. But ya outside of Red Dead 2 last year I can't say I have seen anything that blows me away, not in a long time!

Division 2 is the second attempt at making the game. The original division played well for a few hours but was then generally a train wreck IMO. I dropped it with zero interest to play it again, it was so bad.

I hope they learned their lessons. It could have been a nice game.

The current state of Division 1 vs its initial launch is vastly different. They improved it Massive-ly (pun intended).
If you put it off because it sucked, you might like it now. If you tried it recently and didn't like it, then you probably won't like Division 2.

If they keep it up with Division 2, I'm very hopeful. I tried the Closed and Open Beta and had a few CTD that I just gave up with.
I hope they get those sorted, and I can enjoy the game. Haven't gotten to "end game" stuff in the Beta yet, so I don't know how those play out, but so far, from what I've seen, the new systems and mechanics are interesting.

So Im a big fan of Division 1.7+ build. In it's current state, The Division 1 is actually fantastic, if you like third person modern shooters. So after a few hours with The Division 2, I kinda feel its ok. I think it's pretty good for launch and fixes a number of issues Division 1 had. My issues thus far with Division 2 are the same issues with Division 1, control scheme and enemy AI. It seems like the Division 1 story is carrying over to Division 2, which is great, but my recommendation would be to buy Division 1 for 10$, try it, if you finish it and enjoy it, buy Division 2. Division 2 plays and looks almost identical.

P.S. this is a RPGish HP shooter, so enemies aren't going to go down with one or two bullets.

Good, I'm glad to hear it.

I really liked Division 1 when it first launched, right up until all the story stuff ended and the only thing to do was the DarkZone.

The idea of the DZ was great, but in reality it was full of aim bots, god mode invulnerable morons flying around the place and 1-shotting everyone who didn't have hacks installed and stealing all the gear we worked hard to get. So I uninstalled and that was the end of that.

If that is fixed, I'm definitely interested to check out Division 2.

They need to fix when going rogue the entire map can see you as well. That annoyed me.
