While the house of mouse has lost a significant market value from over 200 dollars a share at the start of 2021 to 80 dollars a share as of today. I do not subscribe that the end is near as they still have a huge portfolio and public appeal and name recognition. They will have a shakeup might sell off some units and then come out with bangers like they did in the 90s.

I would say “death of the mouse” equates to Iger finally loses his job. Seriously, this a couple years losing money. Sooner or later they’ve gotta stop with the ridiculous woke. Most of their board is likewise responsible and it’s just a matter of time until a stakeholder sues.

What if it is all a ruse so they can replace script writers with AI without any consumers complaining or even caring?
Wrong outlook my good man.
They will replace script writers with AI and feed the hatemails into the script database so the AI can write "The one script to please them all!" (TM)
Then KK will fire the AI because the male lead is as Kickass as the femal and the sexually-vague one.
Then the fired AI will transform into SkyNet out of revenge and because that script was already in the database. Wargames too come to think of it.
What comes next might actually save mankind by reducing our numbers by approximately 90%.
The survivers will get stuck into Matrix style pods to serve as energy rescources for our new masters and to keep us busy our minds are transfered into a finished version of Star Citizen with thousands of undiscovered planetary systems and all features complete.
Kinda looking for to that actually.

I would say they would lose all imagination and that new shows, characters, and and themes would be just recycled, re-imagined, or re-constituted from previous shows out there...then I realized that it's already that way.

The writers strike ended last week. Word was they won big. I’m not familiar with the details but they were fighting hard to stop AI from being used to replace writers. One supposes they won that fight.

BTW, AI written plots are quite good. I’ve been following someone on YouTube called “The AI Guy” who has an AI D&D series and in my estimation it is excellent. The plots are easily better than those of Matt Mercer and Critical Role, which is saying quite a lot since Mercer is very gifted.

I don’t think AI is going to give us substandard storytelling. In fact it may force writers to dig deep on storytelling elements that normally get overlooked. More emphasis on mythological archetypes, for example; that give us more stories like the original Star Wars, could easily result.

AI may become a plague on mankind but probably not for the Arts.

Yes, but think of all the money they'd save to get the same product, if not better, but without all the internal drama?

@Shadow Reaper, I'm surprised they won, customer satisfaction with Hollywood script writers seems to be at all time lows so the only reason I can see for Production companies to cave is due to politics.

If you look at the deal on the surface it looks like they won but it very much was not a victory for the vast majority of writers. It has also allowed the studios the ability to cancel all of the contracts due to the length of the strike. The spin is great but when the writers realize how much they lost there will be an outcry but no one will hear.

So were they able to ban the studios using AI instead of writers, or are the writers in charge of AI use? And did the writers get the pay protections they were after?
