Nice. I haven't had a chance to work with any of you guys yet. Were you (RNZE) at the Warex in Hohensfels [edit] 2015?
I dont think* so, worked with a few US army and Canadians on an NZ ex (ALAM HALFA) a couple of years ago, I had a real good time on that ex, the experience of the yanks and canadians was really good to be working around.

@TheNOOBIFIER1337 is a moron and does not know what he is talking about! ;)

No ways CIG makes travel so boring that you actually have time to get up and walk around to poop and play cards with your friends.

Quantum travel we already know is a simple point and click, but I suspect jump point travel will involve being hands on and guiding the vector to avoid falling out the slipstream or what ever the mechanic will be called.

There has also being mention of nav computers probably being able to handle some of he jumps, but that is probably for mcuh larger ships.

my understanding is that it's a question of the ship's size relative to the wormhole

small ship, small wormhole - manual piloting required

small ship, large wormhole - set the autopilot and watch porn

I think there is a big difference here between the gameplay mechanics of Jump Gates VS Quantum Drive (and I sense a bit of misunderstanding happening here and elsewhere). Jump gates will likely be short, involved, experiences that require an active pilot at the stick. Quantum Drive travel, however, sounds like an auto-pilot sort of thing, as you can only QD in a straight line. Set your destination, jump, then dick around until it's time to decelerate. Am I arguing against a point that nobody made? I can never remember. I just see this pop up everywhere.

That's what I was referring to... ED for example has quick transitions between star systems, however traveling to planets 100K+ light seconds away could take 20 or more minutes. Noon was saying something about systems in SC being 40min from edge to edge in Quantum travel. I guess it's just something to think about. Off to find some porn...
