I can definitely see using a seated rig with twin sticks for piloting, and then transitioning to a standing rig for FPS. Just needs to be a very quick transition.

Given the cost of a $2,000 computer, $2,000 16k glasses, $5,000 seat, $500 haptic vest, and $3,500 for this, I am curious about the viability of bringing back Arcades. Would you pay $7/hr to rent VR equipment, especially if the FPS was giving you something akin to a gym workout? What do the business guys here think of a rig like this that pays for itself yearly? Not enough margin?

The complaint the reviewer made about “feeling like running through a video game” likely reflected the poor video he was looking at. What we saw looked very 90’s. I’d like to see a review of Star Citizen in this rig. It looks like you could do a takedown in this, and maybe even silently swing a Vanduul Plasma Lance.

I cant seem to get my quest to connect to PC. It disconnects me and keeps telling me to reconnect link.

Possibly a wire issue.

I cant connect through wifi because Im hardwired into my router.

Well shoot, I hope you get that figured out. Although it doesn’t sound like the issue you are running into, Morphologist identified a workaround for VR causing SC to crash. Check out 3:30 minutes into the video as required:

Okay Bossman, here goes nothing.

If we talk about the Quest 1 then a tool called "Virtual Desktop" (get it from Steam for cheap) is your best bet. It's great with Quest 2-3 also but for them it's optional but for Quest 1 Virtual Desktop is pretty much the only stable solution.
Worked for me with my PC wired and the headset on the WIFI. It's IP based streaming and as long as the WIFI is fast enough you won't encounter much problems.
Less than trying to use the Oculus software or Steam Link anyway. And it works with anything Steam can handle plus OpenXR games like Star Citizen.

TIP: If your WIFI don't cut it, there's enough WIFI APs or cheap routers with 2 or more Lan connectors on them. Put Lan Cable in AP/Router. Connect PC to AP/Router. (Make sure no DHCP is running if it's an actual router.) Connect VR-Headset to newly created 5Ghz WIFI on AP/Router. Et Voilá, your very own unthrottled wireless connetion to PC.

IF you got a Quest 2 or 3 AND if your PC got a USB-C port then getting a good long cable for that. Got me a 3m 230W PD, 20GB Data, 8K USB-C (both ends) cable from Mr.Peso's trusty online delivery company.
Who needs WIFI when sitting in front of the PC anyhow, right?
Plus a USB-C cable can charge the headset while playing. A normal USB-A port can't. Not enough power there.
Anyway, with a proper cable connected and the Meta app running you should get a message in your HMD that asks if you want to connect Link. And once you do it's off to the Meta Lobby.
IF you made META the standard app for OpenXR games then you can start Star Citicen (with the appropriate user.cfg) right there and then.
Otherwise Steam is your OpenXR app of choice and you better start SteamVR first.
Sounds like a lot of hassle, right?
But trust me on this, even if you can't play like that all the time it is a mandatory experience to understand what Star Citizen can become.
Seeing this game in true 3D makes for a completely new game.
One with a UI that gives you headaches and without any form of zooming (precision targeting and scope are 1x only).
And you need to muscle memorize all buttons outside of your sight. So, every button basically.
But for the first time I was truely in my ship.
And that alone is worth the trouble 100%.

Another tip: F12 hides the chat. You don't want that in your face in VR... 😎

One more thing.
Especially in VR you need every bit of thrust your GPU can offer.
So for those Nvidia RTX 5 xxx (and 4xxx maybe?) Star Citizens that still get a "not supported" in the NVIDIA App settings, there is a wayto make DLSS 4 and stuff happen.
One Guy named Kanaaldemir offers a tool called DLSS-Override over at Github. It unlocks those DLSS options for every game in the NVIDIA app list.
So make sure to manually add SC before using it, capiche?
If you do that you get a couple new choosable options and between 30-100 more frames depending on the situation.Well, I did at least.
As of yet it runs smoothly and my GPU isn't glowing red hot.
I'll inform you if that situation should change. 😙
Lastly, Infinit Space did a nice video on how this works.
