Let's see......
Exploration is about finding UNKNOWN or UNDISCOVERED things.. Jump Holes, Derelicts, Minerals, etc etc
These can be quite profitable and/or useful to you and TEST.

Streaming what & where you find things seems, to me at least, counter productive.
Just a thought.

If you decide on exploration, may I suggest the Freelancer DUR?
It is much least expensive than an Aquila and can be flown Solo more easily.
Or you could start with the 315P.
yeah I realize I would have to block out any coordinates that my audience could see. To be honest I am just starting out I have like 4 followers and none of them play star citizen. I don't even have all the art for the start screen or anything like the more established guys yet. My objective is to not fly solo I figure with an org of 15000 there has to be people that want to man ships and I hope to make some friends here to play with in my time zone. I am a lot more entertaining when I play with other people than by myself. Though I am not sure they will just be displayed on the screen or something that your computer just knows that can be sold not quite sure how its even going to work yet. My hope is if someone else is operating the scanner they will see that stuff and it won't ever be on my screen.

With what you guys have said I think I am going to go

1. Drake Cutlass Black: drop/boardingship for yellow jacket/Merc stuff and freight.

2. Origin 315p: for exploration solo and then crew for the bigger ships and earn money ingame and make friends to crew mine when I get it.

3. Anvil Gladius: because bird is fun to fly will be good for putting on an Idris and short escorts(confirmed to fit 3 size 3 fixed guns in 3.0)

4: Drake Dragonfly: can fit in the back of the Cutlass and carry her max crew size for ground missions and assaults.

5. Avenger Stalker: Incase I decide to bounty hunt.

This will enable me to take part in all aspects of the game at entry level to dabble and not cost me anymore money than I already have invested. I can then also crew larger ships and decide which ones I want to save for and make friends interested in that as well.

I am debating on getting rid of my combat ships and getting a Constellation Aquila to do exploring and kind of Like Star Trek Orville style gameplay. I would be streaming it once exploration was in and recording even when I wasn't streaming to make captain log videos for YouTube when interesting things were found or happen that are laughable or interesting. I don't know if we need more explorers though or how having other players for crew will work with this if we go way out it would be kind of be a pain to have to go back to drop people off or get more crew though I know refueling will have to happen. I am torn because being a soldier/merc sounds fun too though I worry about my ground fps skills when it comes to this gameplay. I really like the idea of flying around exploring planets in the rover and finding derelict ships, life, jump points and other points of interest. To me it would be more enjoyable if I already had a crew worked out for the ship but no one I know is coming with me and I don't know how immersive the gameplay will be with an npc crew. I guess we will have to wait and see.

So what I am debating is getting the Constellation Andromeda pack and upgrading it to an Aquila(I really like the way the ship looks) and grabbing an Aurora LX to start with during the anniversary sale. The other way I could go is keep my Cutlass Black package and get a Vanguard Warden or Vanguard Hoplite to do yellow jacket/ merc work. I am having a hard time deciding which gameplay I would prefer and though it may take me a couple inheritances to master the fps playstyle(I haven't done it a ton) I know that I could.

What would be more useful to the org or what do you think people would enjoy watching in a stream or YouTube videos more Exploration gameplay or Mercenary and yellow jacket style gameplay?
You don't really need to worry about what TEST needs. We kind of have everything. Just get what you'll most enjoy using and you can borrow the rest from us.
14997/15000 testies will gladly lend you their ships. The other 3 are asses (probably spies).

I am pretty much interested in everything though I am iffy about piracy because it may limit what else I can do and mining because I just don’t know if I would enjoy it. I will mainly play with other people whenever I can but if I get the list above I should be able to solo to do stuff as well because sometimes I just have those nights where I will want to just play and be out far away in the middle of space. Those are the nights I would go out exploring in EVE or do solo pvp in FW space. I know the ability to do that in game isn’t going to be for awhile but why not be prepaired.

If I get the Aquila I will have $40 left over so an Aurora to help blot out the sun makes sense to me lol. I don't know how good it will be in combat but it seems like how pvp will happen is a mixed bag of FPS and sometimes in space or atmosphere. Though they have shown derelict ships in some of the videos. I am guessing the locations are given to you for those though since they were in a Freelancer when they did it and not a exploration ship.
you could get a bmm for 250 then upgrade to something else like 600i explorer. unless your talking about 275 in credits.

I might be a little late to the party, but here's my 2 cents:
I'd mix the 315p and Avenger together and get a Freelancer DUR - which is still soloable and a better explorer than the 315p. If you ever decide to bounty hunt, you'll be able to do so by retrofitting your Cutlass to the setup of a Blue. I feel that the Avenger, considering the rest of your fleet, is a bit redundant.
You'd end up with:
Cutlass Black + Dragonfly - general use / bounty hunting
Freelancer DUR - exploration - solo or with friends
Anvil Gladius - pew pew

I see your point but also don’t think the DUR is going to be as solo as people think. I believe when they do the rework you will have a science turret in the rear like the Aquila has for its top turret. That’s a long ways to run back and forth if you come under attack. I know the ship matrix isn’t 100% accurate but it is the only freelancer that no longer has a manned turret listed.

The only thing that has me second guessing getting the DUR instead of the 315p and Avenger is I am not sure how relivant missions will stay for earning UEC or if player missions that are generated will be locked behind the rep wall for the higher paying ones. The Avenger Stalker could have the stasis pods removed and haul and be the cheapest ship to maintain when restarting if you experience permanent death for one reason or another and have to earn the rep back. Though I am sure once you have the UEC built up you could afford the loss until you got back up to the proper level of rep.

Best advice I can give is have something that allows you to play the game the way you want in each aspect. if you are uncertain about something being enjoyed there is a group of people out there who will take you out to do it in one of their ships and you can easily try it and see then.

Remember EVERYTHING is acquirable in game so if you pledge for ships now make sure its exactly what you want. If it is iffy at all don't buy it now unless you have money laying around you don't know what to do with. or you can give me that money lol. i know what to do with it. :P

The list you gave in the top of the 2nd page is a good list. covers your bases and allows you to be flexible in how you play the game.

Here is my list and my reasons for it. Maybe it can help you finalize what it is you want out of the game and thus the ships you get.

Carrack : Exploration is my focus. As such the king daddy of exploration ships out right now is my main baby. have it with LTI so i don't have to worry much about replacing it when its lost. Also have close RL friends and many friends in Test who will be out crewing it for me when we are all exploring in the black.

Terrapin: Again exploration focused. LTI because I intend to use this not only for my own exploration alone or with a friend but as a scout ship/command ship for PvP.

Dragonfly: my utility ship I can bring with me in my Carrack to add another vehicle to what I bring with me. Also great for quickly getting around the ground or from one side of a station to the other from the outside. LTI so it can be thrown away as needed and replaced.

Hurricane: alpha PvP. And my main PvP ship. basically my favorite design out of the current fighters and the ability to bring a friend helps as well. Also LTI so i don't worry about replacing it.

Prospector: My chosen money making field. The way I see it the most reliable source of income will be mining or cargo hauling I chose mining. LTI so if its lost i can get it back without having to worry about it and even starting back from scratch I have a way to make good money easily.

Yes when the game is released ill end up with a Hull ship, more fighters than just the hurricane and likely several other ships as need of them arises. We will likely pvp with more than just hurricanes someday I may buy a Orion to use instead of my prospector. but I have all my bases covered.
  • Lots of friends to play with regularly allowing me to get a use out of a ship like the Carrack.
  • Exploration focused ship since that is what I want the most out of this game having the Terrapin.
  • A pvp ship since I know i will be doing that regularly as well.
  • Source of income that can be predictable and steady.
Really I dont need anything ells besides that.

I am not looking to spend anymore than I already have invested. My main interests in the game are exploration, Mercenary and Yellow Jacket stuff. I figure I will start out hauling in the beginning to make UEC then the Cutlass could be used as a boarding/dropship later on. Depending on how many times we are reset when they add more systems and they add buying ships with ingame currency I was going to work towards getting a Warden, Hoplite and Aquila in game.
