Fux sake, I'm a cg artist used to spotting errors in details, that's like 50% of my job, and even I had to look at it multiple times to spot the AI scuff. Like the gals leg going missing after it gets out the door. If someone just looks at it 1-2 times, and concentrates on the bot, it's really convincing and easy to pass off as real footage.

Also it's something that's actually easily feasible at this point, it's not like we don't have dog bots that could be converted to do this. Maybe not at this level of stability and speed, but it don't see why it couldn't be done, just put some nice plastic bits and a handle on one of the boston dynamics dogs and you're almost there...

AI getting real good. Scary good.

I honestly think 50% of the internet is AI now, especially social media. All the youtube adds are AI, loads of stuff on facebook.

Most of my friends can't tell the difference at all but I notice the 7 fingers, missing knees and stuff.

It's stupid - it's going to result society being completely divorced from reality. Society is already pretty screwed up it really doesn't need any more help from AI.

So, what I was recalling was not Honda, but the Kawasaki CORLEO; a hydrogen powered quad just like in the link above. It is still a “concept vehicle”, but is working. It debuted in the shows last April.

Ignore statements like “150cc”. It runs on hydrogen fuel cell so the displacement spec does not compare across to internal combustion engines. What you can say is it is a mechanical horse with a lot more than 1 horsepower.

One particular item of note is in Kawasaki’s merchandizing, where they note that the design absorbs shock fantastically better than any wheeled vehicle. This goes a very long way toward justifying so many of George Lucas’ designs in the Star Wars franchise, Mechs in various franchises, etc. Machines that run are by nature better at absorbing shock and since robots have a power density far in excess of natural systems, it makes sense to build a robot horse.

I would not be surprised if the Kawasaki vid is also AI, but it is still instructive. Note early in the vid the right rear leg reaches outward to the right to find purchase. I can tell you after 60+ years of riding a horse that horses can’t do this.

What horses can do that motorcycles cannot is they can think. Riding a horse is a very different kind of activity than riding a cycle because of this difference. There’s no way any mechanical horse could be possible without AI. This mechanical mount is thinking how to move with each step.

Extraordinary.

At this point I wouldn't be surprised if during certain times of enthusiastic public opinion the rest of it was as well. Imagine if the Messers had more control over the Spectrum during the Garron 2 incident and quenched the heat a little to nudge public opinion to a less... energetic... state of being where they could ride the wave out rather than being engulfed by it?
