Alot of good suggestions here. Another when u have time may be to check the roof of your house and maybe the gutters for any damage as well. Sorry that happened to you man.

On another note my [CONCERN] for SOTS has been lowered due to acts of God. Also I can wait til.next month for that beer you owe us :p

Same here. I've been so busy getting into my new house that this totally slipped past me.

Is everything getting covered by insurance Montoya?
Yeah, insurance covered the repairs to most everything and we picked up some new TVs.

Too bad the old ones got fried, they were really good.

Glad to hear you're being taken care of.

Does this mean we can start being [CONCERNIFIED] about SotS 16 again?

@Montoya, have you had lighting hit your house before? Or is your area prone to lightning strikes? If so look into installing a lightning rod and take a good look at your house wiring including the ground leading from your main (breaker box) to the ground outside your house. You might even need to do a ground test to see how good your grounding is, you may need to install more ground wire. But first I'd check the ground from the box leading outside because if you don't know who put the service into your home then for all you know they put in one ground 3 feet in because they hit a rock and did not feel like going anymore. Open question: would the ethernet connectors on a surge protector save your computer if the ethernet was ran that way?
I agree, with all the issues he has he needs to have his grounding rods checked (they do degrade in the ground if they are really old lol) he may even need more if it's a larger home. also you can have issues with them if they are too close to each other or have moist soil and some clays. then again you can also have degraded connections, a lot of them are on plumbing outside like a faucet (looks like a clamp with bare wire under it around a pipe)

Even if you've never had your house struck by lightning, it's worth checking the state of your ground rods anyway if you're not sure that they're in good shape. We just bought a house and I have two rods on one side (with the main water line on the other side of the house also acting as a ground) and they are not installed properly. If you have multiple ground rods they should be at least 6 feet apart, but the further apart the better (mine are barely 1 foot apart). I'm going to have to install a new one a proper distance away, but thankfully that's not difficult.

So you were struck by the almighty Zeus... Sorry to hear that. You should offer him fruit and slaughter a couple of goats for him, maybe even have an orgy. That should appease him.

Do the goat slaughterings and the orgy happen at the same time? Or can we shower in between?

Oh good. The two together would be...disturbing. To say the least.
Yes was for your first question. You have the orgy during the slaughter. Use the goats blood as lube where needed...

Ah so that is what I did wrong.

I was offering fruit and eating goats, but I did not have the orgy!
Common amateur mistake... Just have a post slaughter orgy and all will be well...

You've obviously had at least 4 orgies, judging by the number of kids you've got. I'm thinking you just had them at the wrong time. Ya know, to appease the gods.
