The most epic game of my life happened in similar circumstances, 4x Super Hornets had superiority of the airspace around Kareah, no mater what I approached in I was dead in seconds, so I zoomed in in my 350, hovered over a landing pad and ejected. They blew the ship while I was still drifting but they knew i'd got out, they landed and entered before I could EVA down... but their ships were there. I Jacked a one of them and quantume'd off to checkout the load and setup, then came back in to tear it up, they weren't so cocky a ship down and facing somthing as tanky as them... I was having the time of my life when suddenly the ship vanished around me. Its owner must have respawned at Olisar and called it back up on the screens... but what a laugh!
Did the same thing yesterday. An Avenger kept blowing me out of the sky(I was in a Bucc, a heavily armed Bucc), so I finally just aimed at the station and ejected just to clear a crime stat. After I cleared the stat, the Avenger landed and I jacked her ship(after she shot me a couple times but didn't kill me). Turns out she was working in tandem with a SH and when I fixated on her, he just slid in behind me and blew me away. This is a pretty standard tactic actually, and target fixation is usually how they make the most of it. But this is a good training opportunity if you go into it knowing you're going to die. It's fun to decouple at 550 m/s, flip over and shoot at your pursuer! Alternatively, you can always pair up with someone else to even the odds. You are going to have a very BIG problem with any group of assholes from UNIS. I screwed around with 3 of those bastards for an entire day! I finally got a retaliator, jumped in and stayed alive long enough to target all three with those big-ass torpedoes. Didn't kill any of them, but they all Q-jumped out to avoid the torps and I evacuated the ship and got in to clear the crime stat before they could get back in(of course, they immediately destroyed what was left of the 'Tali when they did come back). We should start a "WANTED" poster thread.

Soon, players wont be able to do this without the big dick of the UEE coming crashing down on their heads. Until then, just make fun of them in chat.
Yah, right now there is no law. And even though I'm an outlaw I don't enjoy the current state of trolls, even outlaws have some sort of code of conduct. We aren't mindless crazy savages.

It's only happening now because there are no consequences. When the PU opens they would not be able to do this in lawful space and survive, and bounty-hunters will be looking for those who do this in lawless space, so griefing will come at a cost. When the PU opens we will all be able to earn cash by blasting these bastards from the 'verse.
True. I do wish they would throw that in with 3.0.

And I do realize it's only a game, is in alpha and the new kids want to play, so it's all good clean fun. But when I'm bug testing, even though I announce that, or I can't just cruze and chill, it does piss me off. I guess I'll just have to take names for a different day when I feel like serving a Klingon side dish.

What you need, sir, is an escort wing.

If we were ever on the same server i'd be happy to run cover for you. I'd be pretty crap on my own but with two or three wingmen you should be pretty safe to conduct your experiments unmolested...

Agreed. Just because we're badguys doesn't mean we're bad guys! We're outlaws, famous smugglers, desperados, not griefers or trolls.

I too, will happily crash on your wing.

Precisely! Although if you're a famous smuggler, you may be doing it wrong. Which is the TEST way. Haha.

Lol yeah I got tired of all that also so I started purposely crashing into them at port olisar in my Andromeda so they had to respawn over and over then crashed into the ships that were just sitting there to prevent them from taking those ships. Then later poped in my good old khartu-al and did the catch me if you can game for a good hour or 2. Teach them to get in my ship with a gun then shoot me while im trying to fly and do stuff.

It's people like that that really have me concerned with the way this game might be going. While some would call them greifers/agitators/trolls, they would probably say they are just PvPers that are following the rules of the game. An mmo-sociopath. I've seen them since early days of UO, and I am sure they were there even in Diablo II and earlier.

Their fun is ruining everyone else's fun, and eventually, either it kills the game, or the entire game turns into this...the lowest common denominator of cyber-dweeb.

I am all for consensual PvP. I think PvP should be part of the game. I also think it needs to be an OPTIONAL part of the game. You should not have to deal with people like this, like people who kill your ship in EVE in a high-sec area so their buddy can salvage both your ships, like people in WoW who used to flag themselves PvP and jump on top of your toon so your AE would hit them and flag you too (when you didn't want to PvP).

Have several systems be PvP areas. Have items just as good in those areas are can be obtained elsewhere...maybe even SLIGHTLY (10 percent) more abundant but not much more. That way all the people that want to PvP can do so, and those that don't want to can avoid it without giving up 90 percent of the game.

They are putting some security measure in place to handle players like this but it's impossible to completely remove these types of players from the grid especially when pirating is an actual function within game mechanics. Pretty sure you will see police at every jump gate, every UEE station so on so forth. As for out in the middle of space most likely not and I think if enough pirates come into the zone they will not spawn 600 police officers to take care of it(as that would not be fair for the pirates even though that seems to be what they are doing now). There will always be grievers or players who are having bad players and doing that because someone else did it to them over and over. One thing I fear is they are not going to put some sort of truce for pirates at pirate space stations. I had a pirate yesterday who sat there killing every ship I spawned for about 1 1/2 hours. I didn't even have enough time to walk out to the platform get in my ship and take off. If he wanted to fight me or ram me once or twice I wouldn't have cared. Now doing that for 1 1/2 hours that's another story that's over kill even for a griever.

That is absolutely griefing...but also within the "rules" of the game, even if it breaks the spirit. These players give PvPers and PvP in general a bad name. Again, I have no issues with going into a PvP zone and getting ganked. I DO have a problem with players being harrassed no matter if it's in a PvP or PvE zone.

There is no such thing as "Griefing within the rules" though. If you are griefing, then you are taking advantage of a system or mechanic with the intent to negatively impact other players experiences. If players are able to do it within the constructs of the game, then those need to be reworked. Proper punishment to those who are asshats, and proper reward to those who stomp on asshats.
Also note if the UEE tracked 600 confirmed pirate signals enter a system, they'd probably dispatch a Navy response. Much like modern countries do with patrolling and protecting valuable shipping lanes and ports.

The navy response would be a great idea but it would need to be a delayed response nothing instantaneously. Also in this case I believe things like going into the space station to steal valuables and players ships should definitely be available. Then they can exercise some FPS in the station against security guards/navy personnel.

Another note I want to put out there on this is why can players ram into other players and not be effected by the shields around the ship. if a ballistic weapon hits a ship it doesn't just go through the shield and into the ship so why can a ship just charge into another ship with no negative effect. I feel that is something that needs to be changed and there should be heavy penalties for ramming one ship into another with shields. something such as if you ram into that player your shields bounce off each other due to weight differences or energy differences(more energy the less spin you get tossed into and the less shield you lose due to the collision). now if there is no shield then sure cut the head off the chicken by ramming right through it if it doesn't have enough armor to handle it. and for shields management maybe they need to show reticles around the ship showing where enemy targets are heading similar to sonar. then the shields guy knows hey there are 10 guys attacking on the right or there is a missile incoming on the right side.
