Just incase you missed this, because I know I did:

"3.2. Participation and Entry Requirements: Social Media Contest Entries – You must submit an entry to the Story Contest in order to be eligible to participate in the Social Media Contest. To make a Contest Entry to the Social Media Contest, you must submit a post to Twitter abiding by the following requirements: 1) the post must include one of the images provided in the Announcement specifically for participation in the Social Media Contest; 2) such image must be unaltered, unchanged, and in its original format; 3) the post must contain the following two hashtags: #contest and #SwordofHope; 4) the post must contain a link (URL) to your Contest Entry to the Story Contest on the RSI Services (the use of a functional URL shortener is optional), and 5) the post must contain a line or passage from your story within the body of the post itself."

It's quite useful submitting so early. I noticed I called the ship a "Genesis Hercules" whereas it should be "Crusader Hercules" so thats edited for the eleventeenth time.

EDIT - And I said the M2 has more turrets whereas it's the A2. Always nice to get the facts right. Thats the twelthteenth edit.

This one is judged - upvotes are nice and much appreciated but as far as I am aware not part of winning this one... there are such strict requirements there'll be knockout rules before even the judges read them, I bet...

If I were a harsh icy bastard, i'd run it like this:

-The criteria we know-
Has to mention the Hercules, anything that doesn't will be void and the judges probably won't see it.
It has to be set in the Lore and as such be Lore Accurate (I saw someone with a story that mentioned the ANVIL Vulcan - sorry dude you're out!
And the big one - has to be under 250 words. It could be the best story the Verse has ever seen but if it breaks the 250 limit thats that story void :-(

I would not be surprised if they run them all through a word counter and word identification software, and the ones over 250 and without the word "Hercules" in are not even sent to the judges. The rest will graded on the Lore Accuracy criteria (Extra points for mentions of systems etc) and then a pool of the top grades will go to the judges for actual story analysis.

Even the social media one has some super strict conditions which I bet many will miss (many thanks @Jolly_Green_Giant), any of those criteria not present and its not put in the hat for the random draw...

Thanks for sharing your story, some nice rapport and I think some popular culture references in there :) - not sure what you mean about not being able to vote... If you are in Spectrum, which you will be to have been able to post your story, you can do anything you like :)
