Is the LTI Warbond version limited, or is it that the variant ships are limited full-stop?

EDIT - Just went and looked on the "Misc 50 year anniversary" page thing, yep its only the warbond that is limited the 6 month insurance version is not limited and is also more expensive...

I see this as some kind of bizarre test as there are not other reasons for these ships and this sale... although I do note the second comment on that page says "welp, this is a fucking joke".

Perhaps they are attempting to devalue LTI to the point it is so unpopular anyone seen flying an LTI ship won't be able to take off because it'll be loaded down by the weight of all the salt it generates...

Indeed it does erode it. I was gonna spend more, not on these but other ships, but this just seems off-putting to me. And yes, it is a blatant re-skin with stat changes and no added functionality.

What worries me is WHY they are doing this. Why try and coerce fresh money. Is what they have now not enough?

See, this is a very good question right there. sadly there are two answers that pop to mind:

1) They are in need of more money to complete the development, in other words, they didn't gather enough already to last until the game is finished -> not sure how much expenses they have, or the level of optimization they are making as a business, but I guess 186,545,376 (current funding) money units are not enough in this day and age -> This leads to another question, how much do they think is really needed? I'm sure someone crunched the numbers and made an estimate how much total money will be needed for SC to be finished...right?

2) They are just grabbing all they can because there is no guaranty when the funding will be over by the player community, which sounds greedy, but also desperate kinda... especially since there was no "real effort" in making this reskin and selling it for a lot of money... your thoughts?

I don't understand what all of the fuss is about. Am I going to pay for limited LTI ships? No. Are there people that are just coming into star citizen that missed out on other LTI opportunities? Yes. Is selling a limited run of LTI ships for 'cash only' a good idea? Of course it is; because people have no self control, are vain, and want to be able to say, "I have the limited LTI version of this." Just let it be what it is, an attempt to monetize what is currently available, with minimum expenditure, to (hopefully) help complete the game.

@Metal-Muffin I don't mind them luring in new money. From a selfish perspective the more people that buy into this the higher the chance is that at least SOME of this game gets made. My more pertinent question is WHY - pure desire for more money because more money is always good or because they are strapped for cash and are trying to save this from failing.

I know I might give off a negative vibe on this. Fact of the matter is that I really want this to see the light of day. Because there is nothing out there like it. And if this fails it will have consequences for this genre.

My first thought was "this seems odd". Then I realized it doesn't matter because I'm not interested in buying these, so they just don't get my money (this time). Sales like these do seem to water down the experience of buying a new concept ship, but again, just my opinion, and I'm gonna pass. As Cosmic said, we can't always get what we want and we wont.
