So I was bored, and read your data. Basically it seems to me just using this data to create trend lines, that he has begun losing interest in twitter, except during periods immediately around CIG update activity, and major press announcements - but the volume there seems to indicate a downward trend as well.

He recently bought out some other game/company, and was going to be working to get that up and running, I think.

So, with having to work, I believe, he has had less time to denigrate & disparage the work of others, and more work to do ...

Sort of an inverse, "devil finds work for idle hands.."

If there are more phrases i should be searching for be sure to tell me.
"shillizen" was always my favorite

It was so good @Montoya took it as a hashtag and Derrick stopped using it immediately.

Well now, lets not be bitter here - he has his own opinion and he is entitled to that as long as he is not trying to Brain-Wash others. The guy who made a rocket to see if the earth was flat did at least manage to take off. He was terribly injured in the attempt and got no higher than a light aircraft, but at least he wasn't trying to convince anyone but himself as far as I am aware...

It would be interesting to get some data on positive words as well as the usual... you know the kind of words you'd expect a game designer to use while designing games, and see how they stack up in comparison to the negative words...

Does DS use the word "Fun" as much as he uses "Lawsut" for instance...? I know he could use the word in a sentence such as "Wouldn't it be fun if everyone launched a lawsuit?" but i'm curious.

"Positive", "Progress", "Good", "Sunshine", "Pledge", "Great", "Dev", "Development", "Nice", "Happy", I can't think of any others right now but it would be interesting to see if there is any positivity at all in the back catalog...

I have a theory- what if Derek Smart has been hired by RSI to deliberately create drama, knowing that there are people naturally drawn to drama like flys to sh!t. Under the assumption that “no press is bad press”, what if this was a cunning tactic to draw even more people to Star Citizen by curiosity alone? The proverbial equivalent to, “I want to know what this is all about, too!”- thusly exposing SC to an element that otherwise would have not bothered to visit the site or watch a you-tube video. That being said, how many additional people do you think have pledged to SC purely on the fact that they came, saw, and made up their own mind to do so?

My reasoning for this is that I refuse to believe that there is a person alive today that would expend so much energy to defame something, that is still in production, yet has people willingly give their money to, to the tune of almost $200M.
I can’tbelieve it’s real, because if it is- I worry for the people that he has locked up in his basement.

career wise it would be insulting and to gain the hate of so many wouldnt help either.

Bah... he never had a career as far as I could tell. I never heard of him or his games, and his name seems a pseudonym- like “Semore Butts”, or, “Richard Crainum”- so what would he honestly be loosing that he hasn’t already? That and, what is internet hate anyway, but just more pixels?

Look- I really want to believe that there is a valid reason for his craziness; because the shear level of it, over this game, seems too unreal to me. It’s too much to say, “He’s just an ass-hole.” Don’t get me wrong, I know that there are complete nut-jobs out there, and the inter-webs have given all of them a voice... but this? Over a video game!? I mean, how much is going wrong in your life that you feel you have to lash out over something as innocuous as Star Citizen?

Here is what I foresee if I’m wrong:
The neurosis of his hatred of Chris Roberts and Star Citizen parallels the similarities of recent mass shooters, making this outcome a vivid possibility. I’m not saying that he has the will or desire to kill a lot of people, but there are a lot of cues in his writing, obsession, and personal attacks on others, that have been published in regards to the perpetrators of those past tragedies. I see- from my psychologist armchair, mind you- him isolating himself thru public ridicule, the high potential for perceived misunderstanding, and the clear demonstration of his self-grandeur that seems almost pathological. That seems like a bad combination that could signal the need for professional help; or the outcome could very well be him hurting himself or others.

Sorry to turn so dark.
