So I was going through the video I recorded (link at the bottom) and found myself wondering about some points:
1) I noticed that weapons used in the 25vs25 event (i.e. anything but railguns) couldn't break the rover's shields (the driver reported that the shields DID drop, but by keeping the rover spinning and backing out to regen shields, he was able to keep them from breaking).
2) The rover's turret can't aim down, so it was quite a challenge to shoot at the infantry, but when I did manage to get an angle a couple of shots managed to score a kill. BUT, I also tried to shoot on a cutlass(?) that was landed in the area, and I scored a lot of hits on it, but I am quite sure I didn't manage to break the shields at all.
3) Some basic tactics were "attempted" but I think we can say they didn't go well. The attackers tried to split into groups, one group was supposed to be sniper/scout group in the rover, while others form the main attack force. Not sure where the main attack force ended up, but they landed way too far from the main battle grounds.
4) It has also come to my attention that because it took everyone (and by everyone I mean the attacking team) to get to the battle area, the defenders lost a lot of O2 and some even died (I think?).
I propose some research into these matters in order to help better plan for the next event:
1) How much damage does a railgun do? Is it a proper counter to rovers/airships or is it too op at this time?\
2) How much damage does the rover turrets do? can they work as basic AA? or are they too weak and their damage can be ignored?
3) Can a rover's shield tank aircraft weapons decently? if found to be fair, maybe fighters can be considered proper counter to rovers in future battles.
4) Can a rover supply infinite O2? How many people at a time can use a rover to resupply on O2?
5) Is it possible for the attackers to use an aircraft for scouting the battlefield before deploying? can you see infantry on the ground? can you see other ships if they are powered down?(would help plan where to drop infantry/ assess the lay of the land)
6) What is the effective range of weapons? (snipers/rifles/railgun/etc.)
EDIT1:
7) How long does a suit's O2 tank last? How much does oxipen add?
Feel free to answer/add questions, I hope this would supply information and help the organization when next we have a planned event.
