I always just lay the ship on it's side and eject.
Ejection is for pansy. Real pilots ride the flames to Valhalla.
Oh no, I'll ride my ship through the gates of Valhalla like a fiery meteor until it explodes in a glorious fireball. I just flop it on it's side, aim the canopy, and shoot my self to the bar with the ejection seat if I'm feeling lazy and don't want to walk across the landing pad or if my mug is almost empty to get there quicker.
