Warning! A really pissed off ex-girlfriend filed some restraining orders in 2007!

I bet it's a spicy video, but I can't hear/watch it as I'm currently performing my sacred duty as a TEST member: drinking my n + 10th beer at bar !!

Tldr would be appreciated lol

i still don't agree with them using Chris and Sandy's personal life to prove a point.
The saddest part is I don't think they had a point to prove with it in the first place?

1. As the brother of a LEO, I can say with confidence that you can call in a report for trespass or other potential issues, and then leverage that to get a Temp restraining order in place, pending a hearing to make it permanent. This doesn't mean it WILL be permanent, but it just puts something in place.

2. We have no idea what was contained in the police report, since those are kept private in California (unlike Florida Man stories).

3. I disagree with "Get the belt." Chris should say "Harder, daddy!"

4. The executive compensation should have been released.

5. I like making lists; sue me.

6. I got nothing left, daddy.

Re-read the article from the perspective of someone thinking "I have a spare $1,000,000 I need to get invested." Does that article make you want to invest, or think twice about CIG? That's its purpose. You throw enough of that kind of news around, some of it is bound to stick. CIG is going to attract negative attention from magazines like Forbes right now, because they are an outsider trying to attract the next round of funding.

There is also a little bit of an issue with timeline reporting too. The Forbes article gets the number of SC backers wrong by more than 50%, in the downward direction. These days, getting wrong numbers by that much of a margin ought to raise eyebrows even at Forbes.

I'm pretty much unfazed about SC development.
I mean yes, the development process is long and CIG are still working on the game.
But the scope of the game is big enough, and CIG has done enough to keep me interested.

I've logged on recently and 3.5 is much smoother now, with enough gaming mechanics to keep me playing.
I love the new flight model, and mining is actually quite fun.
Now I'm considering to build a new PC, definitely need better fps, and get ready for VR.

The only thing that bothers me, are the trolls and stupid, who keep posting ridiculous claims about SC failing.
I can't be bothered to engage anymore.

Not sure if anyone else has noticed this, but theres some articles that Forbes did and also has reposted on their website from Quora which make the other article funny as wet beer-farts in a car (did I just poop myself . . .oh god did that smell just come out of me?!). Check em out.

And one article by Forbes own Erik Kain, Senior Contributor on "Video games should be more expensive" -posted Apr 24, 2015: https://www.forbes.com/sites/erikkain/2015/04/24/video-games-should-be-more-expensive/#11afb4136eb9
Hmm. . . something doesn't smell right in the land of Forbes, and I'd wager its not the beer-farts.

Hang about...

I just watched the video again.

So as you may appreciate I don't have any experience in restraining orders so my comprehension of the following may be wrong...

What I see is: Restraining order applied for, temporary granted because you'd be stupid not to have a placeholder to cover the requester in case it's actually needed. Hearing occurs over the course of time time, temporary is refreshed a couple of times because as stated you'd be stupid not to. Once hearing is complete, restraining order found not to be required and temporary placeholder is removed.

So... There wasn't actually a restraining order? Or am I misunderstanding something?

I don't want to dig into their lives, i'm just trying to work out if there was actually a restraining order? And what does "without prejudice" mean?

Sniff....sniff...what is that smell? It's the smell of wanting to have it both ways! Nice, Forbes...

I'll say it again, running an article (or YouTube video) saying "STAR CITIZEN -- FAILURE OR SCAM!??!" is an easy (lazy) way for anybody to run up a huge number of clicks/page views.

The guy Night Train123 in your comment section seems so much like that failed programmer DS. His arguments in support of the article is so frivolous and yet he like to continue to argue. Guys a retard.

I think you are correct. They issued a temporary one then said nope, no restraining order for you!
Without prejudice means that they are allowed to come to court with the same case again. Or the the other way around, they are not allowed to have the same case argued at a court ever again.
I can never remember which one it means lol . I think it's the first one, I seem to recall "with prejudice" meaning that they can't bring the case to court again?
