This is in-game 4k (3840x2160) footage from alpha 3.7 of a total solar eclipse with Lyria (moon of ArcCorp) passing in front of Stanton (star of the Stanton system).

I asked Utho Riley to create the custom score with some rather specific direction and requests. Once again, he nailed it. Does anyone think the piano melody after totality sounds familiar? 😉

ReShade was used in-game during recording to enhance the effect a bit; specifically Bloom, AmbientLight, MultiLut and a few others.

Spectacular, was this in real-time or sped up as a time-laypse?
Thanks. It was sped up a bit

Wow, I wander if we will have some sort of in-game news for this kind of event, so une could log in and see them in real time...
Maybe. I think if CIG had orbits, sizes, and positioning set up to create eclipses, it would be fun to have watch parties in game.

So beautiful !
Thank you

Wow! Spectacular!

Correct me if I am wrong, but the planets don't revolve around the sun, so you had to do a "fly-by" from a distance? How much footage (time-wise) did you take?
Thanks!
Correct, planets and moons ROTATE on their axis (day/night cycle) but do not ORBIT a star (for planets) or a planet (for moons), yet. So yes, I was moving to film this from a considerable distance with the longest focal length possible (aka "zoomed in"). As for how much footage... between mistakes, errors, etc; a lot.
