Wonder what their motivation for doing that is? 50 cal. machine guns and rocket launchers are illegal, so they get fakes or inert ones. Do they want people to approach them to point that out only for them to, yell "These are fakes bro, whacha gonna do about it?". Or do they want the ATF to be called on them just so they can have a confrontation caught on video to be put on Youtube or something.
"im gonna bring my rocket launcher and my prop M2, its going to be fucking hilarious, libs gonna reee, fuck this lockdown, im bored".

Its not the launcher, its the ammunition. If you go spend a bunch of money on one round, then questions are going to get asked from the ATF. Its not like going out to the range, getting drunk, wasting 1-5k per round. I understand the federal transfer fee is $200 but you still have to buy the round.

For non-US people on this thread... the ATF monitors the sale of weapons in the US, among other things.

People still have constitutional rights, but there are limits.

This link is a little off base, but it is a good illustration.
Yeah ive never really thought people could buy high explosives like that for a rocket launcher without having like a super high tier license.
I remember this call well, you better believe the ATF got involved after this.

I guess those cosplayers got lost on their way to E3...

@Aramsolari Good thing they use real ones, one less thing I have to fix in post lol
I once had to operate a film light next to a bunch of extras performing a combat scene in the woods. The scene had a bunch of human resistance types shooting at an alien (Basically a pole wrapped in blue/screen fabric). Ejected shell casings flying all over the place including .50 cal ones. A ton of them fell on me. Forest warden got super annoyed cause he thought the ejected shell casings might get hot enough to start a forest fire lol (We pre-wet the forest floor before that). Everything fired were blanks though, no live ammunition.

I remember coming back from Afghanistan and I forgot a couple grenades in my ruck.

EDIT - Of course they found them when I was leaving, I was so embarrassed. That is why we do not tell war stories... because people flip out. Sorry.

So beyond New Zealand no travel to the land down under until a vaccine can be crafted and administered to most people of a countries population.
I mean if the choice is accepting visitors from countries with uncontrolled viral spread, or from countries with controlled, tracked viral spread we’ll go with the second thanks.

[edit] I have no idea why a half formed reply was included with this [/edit]

The next time I want to carry a live rocket launcher through a subway restaurant I'll stick the word "fake" on the side of it and everything will be just fine.

Interesting little roundup of the different ways numbers can be wrought for statistics purposes from the BBC, seems to be what has been said in the course of this thread but goes into a bit of detail about how each one may be of benefit even if it is not the more accurate:

Indicates the total deaths above the yearly average may be up to 50k already depending on the method used to collate data:

Looking at the list of sources that's a bunch of work to run around all those every day getting the info in.

So when this first started, like in the first couple days the news about the virus broke, I said "that's it, it's impossible to contain this" just because of what I was seeing and how contagious this virus was. I had absolutely no hope of things just clearing up until a mass worldwide distribution of a vaccine (which I don't expect anytime this year or next, maybe longer if at all).

Entertaining the idea that all 11 million residents in wuhan are to be tested is exactly what I wanted to hear to have some sort of optimism. Like seriously, our data is shit, its unreliable, its incomplete, its new, and we only have a sliver of the whole picture. We have enough data to make well educated guesses, even more so as time goes on, but if you don't have data on the entire picture, you're at a crippling disadvantage. The perfect scenario would be everyone, everywhere gets tested every single day with a 100% accurate test. That's absurd though and not feasible. Hopefully as time progresses someone smart will come up with a solution we just can't see. Social distancing and good hygiene practices really are our best hope at this point in time.

I hope this is a nothingburger, otherwise this doesn't look good at all.
